Back in October, we were sad to report that America's Got Talent auditioner Joe Finley's wife was found dead in a hotel after falling eight floors to her death, following a night of heavy partying with drugs and alcohol.
Now, in a bizarre and upsetting turn, Finley believes a homeless person snuck into their hotel and killed his wife, and he's filing a lawsuit against the hotel for wrongful death.
In the lawsuit, Finley claims that his wife wouldn't have died if the hotel "would have done a better job of keeping out transients."
The investigation is still underway, but Finley believes his case is solid, because the hotel has had other recent reports of transients, and he saw items in the hotel staircase that indicate the presence of a homeless person, including "filthy clothing, bottles full of urine, and dirty blankets."
Here's what Joe Finley's lawyer Sean Macias had to say about it:
"The tragic death of Laura Finley was preventable and The Biltmore failed to provide basic security measures and precautions."
"There has been prior serious criminal incidents at the hotel. They were understaffed with security and they had construction on first and second floors where uninvited transients and third parties were staying."
Such a tragedy. Guess we'll find out soon enough if a homeless person caused Laura Finley's death, or if it was in fact drug-related, as it seemed to be when we first heard about this.
