This is surely going to be a swanky event!

We're excited to announce that Mr. Valentino is making a come back! In September, the fashion designer will be celebrated at the New York City Ballet's fall gala and will design costumes for three ballets!

The fun doesn't end there! Sarah Jessica Parker and Giancarlo Giammetti are going to co-chair the event!

Valentino said of his prima ballerina designs:

“There is so much beauty in the ballet, the grace, the fluidity. (I am honored to) celebrate my work in this way, and I am very passionate about the design of these very special costumes."

We're quite positive Valentino's costumes are going to be as froufrou if not better than Rodarte's Black Swan tutus!

We can hardly wait for Valentino's return!

Parsons The New School of Design honored Famous alumni Shelia C. Johnson and legendary fashion designer Donna Karan at a celebration held in NYC Tuesday evening.

Parsons' executive dean Joel Towers explained:

“[they are both] women who have risen to the top of their chosen fields and have shaped contemporary culture.”

Donna never technically graduated from Parsons - she failed drapery class - but that minor detail has not deterred Parsons from giving honor where honor is due.

Vera Wang will soon be hitting the ice again.

The former competitive figure skater (did U know that piece of trivia?) will be honored by Figure Skating in Harlem at its annual Skating with the Stars event on April 2nd.

This past Friday, Amber Riley was at the Saks Fifth Avenue in Santa Barbara benefiting the Dream Foundation.

The 10th Annual Celebration of Dreams honored Donna Karan this year with the founder’s award.

As for Riley, she wore a knee length, black lace dress with some red stilettos.

Shakira was honored this week as the 2011 Latin Recording Academy Person of the Year.

The event, which took place at the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino in Las Vegas, featured a number of Latin musician and stars, but Shakira definitely stole the show.

The gorgeous beauty worked the red carpet in a blue silk chiffon Gabriela Cadena dress.

We’re loving the dress, the hair, the makeup — all of it!

As for the prestigious award from the Latin Recording Academy, Shakira is the youngest person at the age of 34 to receive one. Others include our favs like Gloria Estefan and Ricky Martin.

A big congratulations are in order for Valentino Garavani.

On Wednesday the 79 year old retired designer was honored by FIT's Couture Council for Artistry in Fashion.

Before receiving his award Valentino said on the red carpet:

"I have to tell you, I am very emotional because it’s a good award, and after two-and-a-half years, when I stop my job, it is nice to be here and to have this award."

Aww.

We think it's well deserved!

Anna Wintour has a new accessory to add to her collection!

On Wednesday night, Vogue's editor and chief received the Legion d’Honneur from French president Nicolas Sarkozy in Chanel Haute Couture, no less.
