It's not every day you watch your own child get abused!

On-screen, that is.

In Chloë Grace Moretz's new film, Carrie, there were a few scenes in there that made her mom (and any other mom) uneasy.

Fortunately, Terri Moretz is nothing but a loving mother and she knew what to expect since she has seen the original Carrie film from 1976.

But even knowing what was coming, momma bear Terri still found the scenes unbearable to watch, saying:

Brad Pitt Says 12 Years A Slave Made Him Grasp The Horror Of Slavery!

You know a film is going to be good if Brad Pitt himself says that it's a prime example of why he got into the movie making business!

In an interview on the Today show, Brad talked with Ann Curry about what the making of 12 Years a Slave taught him, and what kind of lasting impact he thinks the film will leave:

"It wasn't until I saw the story that I fully fully grasped the utter horror of losing your freedom or denying another one their freedom, taking their freedom, splitting their family apart. It's abhorrent…I know what this film is. I've been around film long enough. I know the impact, and this one will have a continuing impact."

Whoa, sounds unbelievably powerful!

We reported earlier how Brad mentioned that this movie is why he got into film in the first place, and we sincerely hope this film comes in first place in Oscar nominations as well!

Brad also talked about how he'd let his oldest child Maddox watch the film, due to its cultural importance, and we could not agree more.

This film looks like it's going to tell an inspiring story about redemption and freedom, as well as an important history lesson about our nation's not so glamorous past!

We cannot wait for this film to make its impact on the big screen, and we could not be more excited to see it based on how excited Brad is!

The Giving Tree As A Horror Film? Watch The HIGHlarious Trailer Here!

tree

Ever wondered what would happened if the Giving Tree got sick of giving, and decided to seek revenge on the boy who took its apples and limbs? Then we've got a video for you!

The HIGHlarious folks over at Funny or Die have come up with a faux trailer for a movie based on The Giving Tree, the children's book "from the twisted mind of Shel Silverstein."

Not exactly a faithful adaptation of the story you can definitely read to your kids, the trailer shows the Giving Tree giving hell by stabbing, skewering, and slashing with its branches.

Oh, and of course the movie is coming out in "Tree-D." LOL!

Hey, if Sharknado can exist, we don't see any real reason this can't actually be turned into a movie, too! Can someone call Tara Reid like right now??

Spanish Horror Director Jess Franco Dies At 82 After Suffering A Stroke

spanish horror director jesus franco dies at 82 after suffering stroke

The horror movie genre lost a big name today as spanish director Jesus "Jess" Franco died at the age of 82 after suffering a stroke.

Jess' film career spans over 50 years, starting in the mid 1950's and continuing up until his death. In that time, he has written and directed nearly 200 films.

You might not be familiar with too much of his work, as none of his films received any mainstream success. But his 1962 breakthrough film The Awful Dr. Orlof earned him a cult following and cemented his place in the exploitation horror genre.

In addition to dealing with horror, many of Jess' films also earned X-ratings for their erotic nature, which can be seen in classics such as Venus in Furs and Vampyros Lesbos.

In 2009, he was given the lifetime achievement award at the annual Goya Film Awards in Madrid, Spain.

Rest in peace, Jess.
