We were pretty shocked to hear that Seth MacFarlane had been asked to return to host the Oscars after the controversy surrounding his last run.

But now it looks like A Million Ways To Die In The West and Family Guy will keep the writer/director/star too busy- not that he didn't consider it!

Look who's getting the last laugh!

After Ricky Gervais' controversial stint as the host of last year's Golden Globe Awards, nobody expected him to return, except for, well Ricky himself!

The comedian maintained - despite adamant denials from The Hollywood Foreign Press - that he had been invited back, and today, we now officially know that he was RIGHT!

The organization formally announced today that for the third year in a row, Ricky will be the host of the Golden Globes, after meeting with NBC official Doug Vaughn!

Oh man. Oh man. Oh man.

We cannot WAIT to think of what he's going to have to say THIS time around - especially after all the flack he received!

Get ready, Hollywood! Ricky Gervais is coming for that ass!

Exciting news for the Rev. Al Sharpton and his loyal followers!

Following several weeks as a "tryout" host on MSNBC, the network has just announced that Rev. Sharpton will be getting his own show called PoliticsNation, which is scheduled to premiere next Monday.

Sounds like the Rev is pumped about his new hosting gig, and he's referring to it as "a natural extension of my life work and growth."

Good luck, Rev! If done correctly, we'd imagine this show could definitely be a successful one!

And the shortlist just keeps getting stranger and stranger…

We reported earlier in the week that Simon Cowell was considering Enrique Iglesias as a host for the upcoming US edition of X Factor, but it looks as though if that doesn't work, he's heading to the Upper East Side to try and secure none other than Little J herself, Taylor Momsen, for the job!

Seriously!

Sources close to the production have revealed that the show's producers think that The Pretty Reckless singer is perfect because she is "young, hip, and edgy."

Yeah…but like we said about Enrique - does she have any experience hosting a show like this? And we may be the only ones who still think this, but we'd be bummed if she didn't return to Gossip Girl at some point!

Don't get it twisted - we think she'd do just fine - we just are a little concerned with how all over the place these casting announcements seem to be!

Time to buckle down and make some decisions, guys!
