Beastie Boys' Confusing New Album Gets A Release Date

beastie boys new confusing album gets release date

Back in October, our brain almost escaped from our head while trying to figure out the situation with this new Beastie Boys release.

As we said back then, the Beastie Boys decided NOT to release their album Hot Sauce Committee Part 1, and instead chose to release Hot Sauce Committee Part 2…but with some tracks from Part 1 added to the album.

Now, the Beastie Boys have announced a release date of "MAY THREE, Y'all" (May 3rd) for HSCP2.

Here's the announcement the Boys made about the release:

"Since the dawn of time, and perhaps even before, there was a silent order who were tasked with a mission. They held their secret tightly. On may 3rd the HOT SAUCE COMMITTEE PART TWO will be unleashed on the general public. Hold fast ye heathens."

We suppose this isn't the first time a sequel has come out before an original. Just look at Star Wars…the first one ever to be released was Part IV! Maybe that's what they're going for here but probably not.

For those of you who'd like even further confusion, check out the "unique" titles for the new album's tracks after the jump!

Phew!!

We were extremely upset to hear last year that Beastie Boys rapper Adam "MCA" Yauch was diagnosed with a salivary gland tumor, but we're thrilled to report now that he is on his way to making a full recovery!!

And the band is ready to get working again on their new album, Hot Sauce Committee, Part 1, which was postponed indefinitely after Yauch's diagnosis!!

He says:

“I feel better. It was touch and go there for a while, but I am finally getting my energy back. It was really disappointing to have to hold the record and postpone the tour, but doctor’s orders. We may or may not [release the album] depending on how my health is come September. We want to but we have to play it by ear. I was just talking to Adam [Horovitz] and Mike [D] today on the phone and we were talking about working on it a bit. We finished the record over a year ago, so we want to take a look at it and re-evaluate and make sure it is what we want to put out there and that we are still happy with it. I don’t think we will change it up too much.”

We're relieved you're feeling better, bb, and anxiously awaiting your new album!!

Stay healthy!!
