From Mobsters And Gangs To Kids And Robots! Check Out Scorsese's Hugo Trailer!

Director Martin Scorsese is going in a MUCH different direction than Goodfellas, Gangs of New York, and Shutter Island with this one…and we're liking it!

Check out the trailer (above) for Hugo, starring Chloe Moretz, Jude Law, Sacha Baron Cohen, and Asa Butterfield as Hugo Cabret.

Fantastic cast, wonderful director, and what seems like an interesting and heartwarming storyline - we're won over.

Will U check out Scorsese's Hugo when it comes out this November?

Fantasy Fans, Rejoice! Neil Gaiman's American Gods Headed To HBO!

Filed under: TV NewsTom HanksBusiness Blitz

neil gaimans american gods headed to hbo

Much like Dark Tower fans, we're aware that Neil Gaiman followers can be pretty obsessive, so this news should be REALLY exciting to lots of people!

Playtone partners Tom Hanks and Gary Goetzman have brought Neil Gaiman's fantasy series American Gods to HBO, which we assume means things will work out for the project. Who says no to Tom Hanks? Seriously?

Looks like Gaiman and renowned cinematographer Robert Richardson will write the pilot together.

For those of you who don't follow cinematographers, Richardson's impressive credits include Hugo Cabret, as well as Kill Bill AND Inglourious Basterds.

The book/potential show's story is about two sets of Gods (traditional and mythological ones). The Gods are "losing steam" because people aren't believing in them anymore, and they're in danger of being replaced by new Gods which "reflect America's preoccupation with technological advancements and obsessions with media, celebrity, technology, and drugs."

The main character in the story is "an ex-con who becomes the traveling partner of a conman who turns out to be one of the older gods trying to recruit troops to battle the upstart deities."

Wow! Quite a premise! Sounds like a good ole' controversial time to us!

We hope they move forward with this. We're intrigued.

Will U watch American Gods if it gets picked up by HBO?

Chloe Moretz Is Emily The Strange

Chloe Moretz is attached to star in everything Hollywood's newest comic book adaptation!

The star of the upcoming films Let Me In and Hugo Cabret will star in Universal Pictures' film adaptation of Dark Horse Comics' Emily The Strange.

The creator of the Emily franchise, Rob Reger, will serve as an Executive Producer on the project.

Here's what Reger had to say about Moretz as a choice for the title role:

"When I first met Chloe I knew I found my Emily. She really identifies and understands the character, and has what it takes to bring her to life."

Ms. Moretz is on quite the roll lately! She's really talented…we hope she doesn't follow the path of Lindsay Lohan so many child stars who have come before her.

Have U read the Emily the Strange comics? Will Chloe Moretz's attachment influence you to go see the movie?
