Gawker Founder Claps Back At Peter Thiel's Secret War Against The Company — Says He's A 'Thin-Skinned Billionaire'

Dramaaa!

On Thursday, Gawker Media founder Nick Denton took to his site to SLAM his newly revealed nemesis, who is the tech billionaire Peter Thiel, for bankrolling lawsuits against the digital news operation. Oh snap!

As you may know, this beef all started when Thiel gave an interview to the New York Times and accused the media site of outing him as gay and causing pain to several of his dear friends. Obviously, Denton was not thrilled about this — especially since this bit of legal drama comes not long after Hulk Hogan's major victory over Gawker.

Get the deets!

Hulk Hogan wins again!

On Wednesday, a judge upheld the wrestler's legal victory against Gawker in that sex tape lawsuit. For those who may not remember, a jury ruled that the 62-year-old would receive $115 million from the gossip site, as well as another $25 million in punitive damages, for a grand total of $140 million.

The webpage's founder, Nick Denton, had filed a motion to try and get the celeb's winnings reduced, or just have the jury's verdict thrown out altogether, and get a new trial ordered.

However, Florida Circuit Judge Pamela Campbell decided the TV personality's winnings would not be touched, and shot down Gawker's request for a new trial.

But the fight's not over yet.

Now that the magistrate has officially settled how much the site owes Mr. Hogan, the case will move on to the appeal stage, since Nick is battling the celeb's big victory.
