As we reported, a family of six died last week after their van was submerged by flooding caused by Hurricane Harvey in Texas. Only the driver survived.

In a Facebook post after the tragedy, Selena Quintanilla's father, Abraham Quintanilla, revealed the six lives lost were cousins of his.

If you weren't already disgusted at reports Donald Trump was planning to end DACA, the program that protects child immigrants from deportation, let us tell you the story of just one of these Dreamers.

His name was Alonso Guillen.

He was 31 but had entered the United States as a teenager. He hadn't achieved U.S. citizenship, but thanks to the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program, he had a work permit allowing him to work as a DJ on SuperMix 101.9 FM in Huntington, Texas.

When Hurricane Harvey hit, Alonso decided to go the extra mile to try to help his fellow Texans. He and a couple friends borrowed a boat and set out to rescue flood survivors.

Another tragedy from the waters of Hurricane Harvey.

A 25-year-old Houston man died on Tuesday after he was electrocuted by a live wire in floodwaters while trying to check up on his sister's stranded cat.

Alyssa Pasek said her brother Andrew (above) was "just trying to be my hero" when he returned to their evacuated neighborhood to check up on the cat she left behind on the second floor of her home. She explained to People:

"[Andrew]'s fearless. That kid was so brave… He just really wanted to go and be the one to call me and tell me, ‘She's okay, she's fine, don't worry."

Before evacuating her Houston home on Monday, Alyssa tried to convince her cat to come downstairs, but D'Artagnon, a 15-pound Maine Coon cat, refused.

The 27-year-old didn't have a cat carrier, so she put an automatic feeder and plenty of fresh water out for the feline. Alyssa was convinced the animal would be fine on its own, but her brother wasn't.

Andrew, an Eagle Scout who frequently rescued stray animals he found on the street, called his sister Tuesday afternoon and said he was going to check on the cat. Alyssa recalled:

Joel Osteen Has A Message For Twitter Devils Who Think His Church Didn't Do Enough To Help Hurricane Harvey Victims!

Joel Osteen is unbothered by the critics.

In a new interview, the megachurch pastor spoke on the backlash he received for not opening his Lakewood Church doors sooner to shelter Hurricane Harvey victims.

For those who missed it, Osteen had to make a round of toothy interviews to address accusations saying Lakewood kept its doors closed to hurricane evacuees, and he had a rosary of excuses for doing so.

Now with Lakewood finally giving shelter to a worthy amount of displaced locals, the church leader has no desire to answer to the haters on social media — because he's only worried about serving @God.

"We had to get out of there so I called Chick-fil-A, now that sounds kind of funny. I ordered two grilled chicken burritos with extra egg and a boat. And can you believe that one of the managers of Chick-fil-A, she sent her husband to pick us up and we are so grateful."
