Well, hey! The cover may have made it more famous, but she IS responsible for its writing!

Dolly Parton caused some flack when she responded to the death of Whitney Houston by saying that she "will always be grateful and in awe of the wonderful performance she did on my song," regarding the late icon's cover of her 1974 original I Will Always Love You, but now, she's clarified - and is now calling it THEIRS!

What a coincidence!!

Glee had already decided to do I Will Always Love You *before* Whitney Houston's death.

But now that the legendary singer has passed, Mercedes' rendition of the beautiful song will fit in perfectly with the tribute card they plan on airing before the credits.

Ironically enough, Amber Riley (the lovely lady who plays Mercedes if U somehow didn't know that) actually MET Miss Houston on Thursday! If that's not karma, we don't know what is!

Hey! She wasn't lying!

After last night's X Factor, during which Simon Cowell remarked that a less-than-stellar female contestant reminded him of what would assume a 20-year-old Nicole Scherzinger would bring to an audition and she subsequently put him in his place by not only telling him - but also showing him - that she actually performed Whitney Houston's I Will Always Love You on the 2001 reality competition Popstars, we got to wondering if we could find footage from that fateful day…and boy, did we ever!

Check out a 22-year-old Nicole seriously showing off her vocal chops, just as she claimed to last night, on the reality competition (above)!

Good lord, doe she have some pipes on her or WHAT?!

But gurl - you've come a LOOONG way from that outfit! Ha!
