Well, it's about time! No one can blow our minds the way she does, and this sounds like no exception!

Björk has kept a pretty low profile since her 2007 album, Volta, but gurlfriend has just announced that there's a whole lot more of her coming our way!

The Icelandic singer not only has revealed that she'll be performing a series of show's as a part of this year's Manchester International Festival, but also that she has a new album in the works called, Biophilia, set to be released sometime in 2011!

According a press release, Biophilia is being described as "a multi-media project encompassing music, apps, internet, installations and live shows" with instruments like "a bespoke digitally-controlled pipe organ; a 30 foot pendulum that harnesses the earth's gravitational pull to create musical patterns– creating a unique bridge between the ancient and the modern; a bespoke gamelan-celeste hybrid; and a one-off extraordinary pin barrel harp."

Holy shiz. This sounds pretty ambitious - just how we like her!

Can't wait to be entranced all over again, gurl!

And check out her new tour dates…AFTER THE JUMP!

Bjork Launches A Karaoke Marathon

Bjork Launches Karaoke Marathon

Bjork is doing awesome stuff for the environment in awesome ways!

She recently launched a three-day karaoke marathon in Iceland to help raise awareness about Iceland’s environmental issues. There is currently a referendum in Iceland that would allow its natural resources to be publicly owned instead of being taken over by Canadian parties — which she supports.

"Anyone will be allowed to sing. And we intend to sing our resources back,” said Bjork about the marathon.

We love it!!

Bjork Is Back!

As a protector of her native Iceland, Bjork discussed how Canadian company Magma bought a majority share of the once public-owned Icelandic energy company HS Orka. She believes that they are guilty of questionable humanitarian practices and are not being honest about the potential of Iceland's geothermal resources.

She went on to talk about how these environmental issues were affecting her music.

Bjork said:

Hmm, not sure. My last album Volta was about justice and I guess I was insisting on it at the same time. It is hard for me to say while I am in the middle of it but it is impossible for me to just stick gum in my ears and blindfold myself while finish my new album. There is a revolution going on in Iceland right now. So I guess all these things are affecting each other somehow.

And she is working on something at the moment.

The singer added, "Yes, it will be ready in few months."

No matter what the inspiration, we can't wait to hear it!

What a wonderful way to honor his memory!

To celebrate what would be her late husband John Lennon's 70th birthday, Yoko Ono is allegedly planning a tribute concert in Iceland for the Beatles icon!

Reports suggest that the concert will include Ono presenting four recipients with the Lennon/Ono Grant For Peace, a lighting of the Imagine Peace Tower Memorial, and then a musical tribute from the Yoko Ono Plastic Ono Band!

Sounds pretty impressive!

A lot of people are going to want to be a part of this thing once it catches wind!

We're curious to hear more details about this as it develops!

Thoughts??

A historic day indeed!

Iceland's Prime Minster married her long-time partner yesterday, said her office this morning, making her the world's first national leader with a same-sex spouse.

Amazing!

Prime Minister Johanna Sigurdardottir married writer Jonina Leosdottir exactly on the day a new law took effect in the country defining marriage as a union between "two consenting adults regardless of sex."

What a crazy idea, huh?

Congratulations ladies! What you've achieved in your country we hope makes its way to ours very soon! Make sure you mention how happy you all are at the next UN Summit!

The Damn Volcano Strikes Again!

Not cool, Eyjafjallajokull!

As Iceland's pissed off volcano continues to spew its misery, the Cannes Film Festival is in serious jeopardy of not going up as planned. Though France's Nice airport, the hub for the festival, still remains open, many flights from the surrounding countries are still delayed and cancelled.

The tight scheduled festival will most likely have to wing it if media and celebrities are unable to make it on time due to the ash. We feel like no one is going to be particularly happy about that.

As of now, there are no plans to cancel Cannes outright, but it doesn't look like it is going to be much of party if folks can't get to it.

Boo, volcano!
