In a minute long sequence featuring Idris Elba landing his impressive looking spacecraft on planet that definitely isn’t Earth, we’re treated to a few hints as to the origin of our species that sound like fiction scripture crazy enough for L. Ron Hubbard to have penned!

Nothing from Michael Fassbender or Charlize Theron in this one, but we're POSITIVE they’ll get their chance to shine!

Yesterday, we showed you a one minute teaser clip of Ridley Scott's Prometheus, but today, we have the FULL-LENGTH trailer in all its sci-fi glory.

After debuting the preview at WonderCon this weekend, we find out that the movie follows the Prometheus spaceship crew in the year 2085. They eventually "discover a clue to the origins of mankind on Earth, leading them on a thrilling journey to the darkest corners of the universe. There, they must fight a terrifying battle to save the future of the human race."

WHAAA!!! Holy shiz.

So, even though the movie was originally conceived as a prequel to Alien, it eventually developed into a whole separate story on its own.

And good news! Scott already mentioned that a sequel is on the horizon at yesterday's panel.

Amazing line-up! This project seems to be getting better and better!

Now that Ridley Scott's prequel to Alien has been re-tooled to be a standalone film, called Prometheus and starring Noomi Rapace, the director has rounded out the rest of the cast, and we're pretty impressed with his choices!

Charlize Theron, Michael Fassbender, Idris Elba, Sean Harris, Scoot McNairy, and Kate Dickie will reportedly join The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo actress out in space, although details about their characters are being held tightly under wraps!

All that Scott will say is:

"I was insistent that the script not leak onto the internet, where it gets dissected out of context, which spoils it for everyone. It's the story of creation, the gods and the man who stood against them. It's not a small film. I'm using the giant James Bond 007 stage at Pinewood and six other sound stages to film it."

Amazing! Frankly, we have no idea what to expect from this project, but it definitely sounds as though it's going to be nothing short of EPIC!

We just wish we knew what it was about! LOLz!

Cynthia Nixon has landed a recurring role on the upcoming Showtime dramedy The C Word playing one of Laura Linney's character's friends.

Gabourey Sidibe and Idris Elba will also be in recurring roles on the show.

We're intrigued!
