We're not sure what this would have to benefit the song, but it still would have been nice!
Anyone who has listened to the AMAZEBALLS track Cheers (Drink To That) on Rihanna's latest album, Loud, probably noticed that the song samples heavily from the Avril Lavigne song, I'm With You, and according to the singer, she had hoped that the two could have gotten into the studio together to re-record the original vocals!
"I asked whether she could appear, but when I heard the track it was already embedded in the music, so the producers already had it that way. But it would have sounded the same. I'm just glad that we could use her sample, because it became such a huge part of the instrumental that if it were not in the song, it would change the whole vibe of it. 'Cheers' is one of my favorite songs. It makes you feel like celebrating. It gives you a great feeling inside like you want to go out and have a drink. People can't wait for the weekend."
That's okay, bb! The song RAWKS just as it is!
But maybe Avril can pop in and make an appearance in the music video, if there is one!
