Kids Who Read Harry Potter Are More Likely To Be Accepting Of Homosexuality And Immigrants!

Filed under: Gay Gay GayHarry PotterBookzAmazing

Harry Potter is fighting bigotry, one reader at a time!

We always knew there was a reason we loved Harry Potter so much, and that's not just the butter beer talking!!

New studies have found that youngsters who read the popular books and indentify with the boy who lived are MUCH more likely to have positive attitudes towards LGBT people and immigrants!

If this all sounds like a bunch of nonsense to you, it's not as crazy as you might think!

Spike Jonze Directing Kanye and Jay-Z's Otis Music Video!!!

Filed under: Music MinuteKanye WestJay Z

american flag from otis music video

If this is even HALF as good as the last music video that Spike Jonze directed, then it'll be fantastic!

Check out the photo (above) of an American flag image from the music video shoot for Jay-Z and Kanye West's Otis, which is being directed by Mr. Jonze.

We're not 100% sure what the significance of the flag will be, but Otis does feature the lyrics "Not bad, huh, for some immigrants?", so perhaps that has something to do with it.

Are U excited for the Otis music video? What do U think is the significance of the American flag image?

Dream Act Passed In House, Moves To Senate

dream act passes in house of reps moves to senate

We really hope this passes!

Yesterday, the House of Representatives passed the Dream Act, which would offer "a path to citizenship for hundreds of thousands of illegal immigrants who came to the country when they were children."

Now, the bill moves on to the Senate for their vote.

Here's what House Speaker Nancy Pelosi had to say about it:

"This is about a commitment to our future. It's about a recognition of what these young people can mean for our country."

Looks like the Senate vote will happen sooner than later…possibly as early as Friday morning, where they'll need a "filibuster-proof majority" of at least 60 votes.

Here's what Oakland, CA Rep. Barbara Lee had to say about it:

"It's the right thing to do for these young people. Shall we further punish these 800,000 young people with deportation or by keeping them in legal limbo, or should we allow these highly motivated youth to attend colleges and become productive members of our society? The answer should really be quite obvious."

We totally agree, Barbara!

Come on, Senate! Make it a filibuster-proof one! You can do it!

Do U support the Dream Act?
