Miley Cyrus Is Twerking Against The Working People! But Does She Know That?

miley billboard minimum wage

Miley Cyrus may stick her tongue out at this, but she might be doing so in disgust!

In good news, California is officially raising their minimum wage to $9! Great news, right?

Well, the Employment Policies Institute seems to have a problem with people getting paid more and being able to afford rent and feed their families.

In fact, they've used Miley's image above in an ad that's against this wage hike, a billboard which implies that one of the reasons Miley's "twerked off" is that minimum wage is being raised.

According to research director of the Institute, Michael Saltsman, Miley has not been approached on her feelings towards the wage increase:

"EPI purchased the rights to use the photograph, but we haven't checked with Miley on whether the minimum wage increase is the real reason she's 'twerked off.' We're not attributing this particular point of view to her — we're just using a fun turn-of-phrase to jump-start a conversation about the unintended consequences of wage mandates."

Yeah, we're pretty sure this may cross a line or two, as it appears to be somewhat of an endorsement.

While the Institute mentions that this increase will make teens lose their jobs, they fail to mention that it might help those working minimum wage jobs with families to support.

We'll see if and how Miley responds to all this!

solange digital sales increase after elevator fight

Well lookie here!!!

After The Fight Heard ‘Round The World took place between Jay Z and Solange in an elevator, it seems like people got curious about who this a$$-kicker is!

According to new reports, during the week ending in May 18, 2014, her digital sales were up from 600 to 2,000!

The fight footage was posted on May 12th, so there were six days in between then and the week end.

We wonder if Jay Z saw a dip in sales as a result???

Probably not though because if your name is in the media, people are looking you up!

We’re just happy that Solange is getting so many more music fans because she deserves them!

Netflix Is Hiking Up Their Prices But Before You Lead A Revolt There Is An Upside To All This! Read About The Silver Lining HERE!

When it was announced that Netflix would be raising their prices up above their AH-Mazing $7.99 a month, the internet prematurely started getting really pissed off.

However, before you start canceling your subscription and start trying to figure out other ways to survive a family vacation, you need to know two things.

One, if you're already a member, the implement payment hike would not go effect into "for a generous time period" even after new users start paying the higher rate, according to CEO Reed Hastings and CFO David Wells.

Two, the reason Netflix wants more money is, surprise, they want to do more with it! This is what Reed had to say:

"[O]ver the last couple of years we’ve been improving the content selection on Netflix and broadening it…[W]e have to eventually increase prices a little bit."

If we can trust Netflix to deliver us with great shows such as House of Cards, Orange is the New Black, and the return of Arrested Development, maybe we can pay "a one- or two-dollar increase, depending on the country, later this quarter” for more AH-Mazing content.

Overall, we should be getting excited to pay a little extra, especially if it means more incredible shows coming our way!

Drake Receives A Giant Grant From The Canadian Government — Wait, Doesn't He Have The Funds To Finance His Own Events?!

drake gets government funding grant

Is it just us or do they have odd policies in Canada?

Drake has been rolling in the dough ever since he made it big after Degrassi, but what's this about the Canadian government giving him a $300,000 grant for his annual OVO fest?

He clearly can fund it all on his own, but apparently in Canada, this type of funding is totally normal.

A government initiative called

Maybe not, but the season four premiere of Downton Abbey broke records and pulled in a whooping 10.2 million viewers on Sunday evening!

Can you say AH-Mazing?!

What's even more impressive is that season four's premiere pulled in a 22 percent increase of viewers in comparison to

Rise In Movie Tickets Prices Has Everyone Digging For Extra Change!

afcf8d2c a493 11e2 9a31 bc764e10a080

Ruh-oh!

Either the recession is getting worse or movie studios are just trying to make more money!

Maybe we'll have to rethink those Hunger Games: Catching Fire tickets…

According to a report from the National Association of Theater Owners, the average movie ticket price has slightly increased .08 percent in the third quarter in comparison to last year.

Which is odd, considering that the Box Office revenues over the summer were up by 6.5 percent from hit movies such as Despicable Me 2, We Are the Millers, and The Conjuring along with a few others!

Ugh, looks like we'll all be paying more to see the Girl on Fire this year.

Sigh, we just wonder if ticket prices will ever go back to single digits as opposed to double.

A movie outing should be fun time, not a reminder of the hard hitting times!
