For a minute there it looked like Lost River might get lost in movie purgatory forever, but we should’ve known better than to count out the ridiculously resilient and totally seXXXy Ryan Gosling.

The Drive dreamboat’s directorial debut premiered to tepid reviews at the Cannes Film Festival last week, but things might be looking up!

Warner Bros., the production company that brought the film to the festival in the first place, is reportedly in talks with a few indie distributors to try and make sure Lost River sees the light of day if not a movie theater at some point in the near future.

matt damon ben affleck project greenlight returns to hbo independent filmmaking

Yes!!! Matt Damon & Ben Affleck are finally returning with the sequel you've always wanted!!!

No, not Good Will Hunting 2: Good Will Stops Hunting & Joins PETA , the other sequel you've always wanted: Project Greenlight!!!

For those of you too young to remember, Project Greenlight was NOT a TV show about a small town near Muncie, Indiana that votes to install its very first traffic light, it was an HBO docu-series that hopes to help fledgling filmmakers make their first marvelous movie!

Matt and Ben, who broke into the biz with the aforementioned indie flick of their own, are all about helping out the underdogs!

They served as producers back when the show was first on the air in 2003 and they're excited to be doing it again!

And The Most Profitable Movie Of 2011 So Far Is…

insidious is most profitable movie of 2011 so far

Zack Snyder's Sucker Punch! JK!

Actually, the REAL most profitable movie of 2011 is kind of unexpected as well - James Wan's Insidious.

The independent horror flick was made for less than $1.5 million, and its global box office is already passing $50 million! Wowsa!

Insidious is on track for a final worldwide box office of between $80 and $90 million.

Still got eight months to go…should be inneresting to see if Insidious ends up being the most profitable movie of the year overall.

Then again, we know A LOT of people are excited for Fast Five…could be some competition there…

Did U see Insidious? Do U think it will come out on top as the most profitable movie of 2011?
