Aimee Copeland's amount of will is being matched by the amount of technology in the world!

Just a year ago she was sailing down a homemade zip-line over the Lower Tallapoosa River, before it snapped. It cut her leg and she fell into the water — contracting a flesh eating bacteria that devastated her body. She lost both her hands, her foot, and a leg.

That didn't stop her from recovering! Such awful news would surely break others down.

A year later and she's regaining her abilities, including moving around the specially built house she has on her own — especially now that she has a pair of extremely advanced bionic hands in her arsenal!

Darian Craig has neuroblastoma, a cancerous tumor that affects mostly infants — something she was diagnosed with as a small small child. Against all odds, she BEAT the 15% chance she had of surviving!

Sadly, that wasn't the only problem: she spent the next 14 years of her life in and out of emergency rooms battling Behcet's syndrome, a rare disorder that causes blood vessels to become inflamed! Not only did she have to have radiation treatments, but she had to have chemotherapy and a bone marrow transplant as well. She is one HELL of a fighter.

She was then diagnosed with Myelodysplastic Syndrome, a rare blood and bone marrow failure disorder, after she had beaten everything else. She was going to need a lot of help to beat this, and they found the perfect match to do it — Evander Holyfield Jr.! You might know his dad, the boxer and champion?

YEAH!

Kobe Bryant was one of the first people to tweet out support and respect for Jason Collins' decision to reveal himself as a gay NBA player!

Continuing that support, Kobe has expanded his words and admiration for such courage, and has spoken at An Unforgettable Evening benefiting EIF's Women's Cancer Research Fund, saying that he believes Jason has paved the way for other gay athletes to be open about their sexuality!

The more we hear about Macklemore, the Macklemore we love him! LOLz!

While he was playing a show in Burlington, Mack heard from the friend of young man (a junior in college) who has been diagnosed with leukemia. Things have been rough for Sam, and his friend thought a visit from Mack would brighten his spirits!

Well guess what: Macklemore showed up and hung out with Sam, and took some pictures!

That's SUCH a nice gesture… but that's not the end of it! Mack went home and wrote about his experience with Sam, and posted it on his website! Here's what he had to say about what it meant to him:

After the NHL's awful lockout, we're glad to see that they're focusing on something within the sport that actually matters other than greed: they're joining the You Can Play Project, which mission is the end of homophobia in sports!

Patrick Burke, the son of the former Maple Leafs GM, heads up the project as his brother Brenden Burke was part of the Miami University hockey team when he revealed he was gay. He started the project in Brenden's honor, as he tragically passed away in a car accident shortly after his announcement.

You might remember the original launch of the group, and its mantra (above): if you can play, you can play. Talent should be the only thing that matters!
