Lindsay Lohan's insurance company dropped $500,000 clams after settling out of court with Rice. The insurance felt they would have a losing battle if the case went in front of a jury, so they conceded the dough.

Model Lauren Scruggs is in the midst of a legal battle with an insurance company over the amount of settlement money she'll receive following her tragic airplane accident last year.

The plane's insurance company "verbally offered" to pay her $200,000 for her injuries — the most they can pay for a "passenger". However, Scruggs is fighting back saying she wasn't a passenger at the time of the accident since she was neither in the aircraft or making an exit.

She adds in the legal docs filed in Texas:

"[She] completed her exit from the aircraft prior to the time of the incident and was physically located on the tarmac when the incident happened. Until struck by the propeller, she was not in physical contact with the aircraft after her exit."

The rest of the deets of Lauren's lawsuit are minimal, but we do know she's asking for unspecified damages or at least more than $200K.

Wow. Tacky.

A woman's dog, Sasha, was hit by a minivan when they were crossing the street. Marcia Pinkstaff said the driver "didn't see us and she hit Sasha, very, very hard."

Sasha was left with "tears in her lungs, a tear in her diaphragm, and liver damage."

She is recovering, but will need several vet visits, including x-rays, lab work, and possibly undergo surgery.

The driver's insurance company, Farmer's Insurance, offered to pay for one or two of the vet trips, but after that they would consider her "totaled." Meaning, instead of paying for Sasha's treatments, they would only pay for a replacement puppy, treating her like a totaled vehicle, as opposed to a living being.

Unbelievable. Meanwhile, Marcia is left to pay for the rest of the vet bills on her own. So heartless.

And as for the person who hit Sasha, he or she needs to own up to what they did and pay out of pocket if they have to! This is ridiculous!

But may not get the money!

Boo!

11-year-old Nate Smith from Minnesota took a shot on the ice to get a hockey puck through a 3.5 inch slot for $50,000 and MADE IT!

Unfortunately, the shot may not count toward the prize money because his identical twin brother, Nick, was the name printed on the raffle ticket required to take the shot!

It is now up to the insurance company to decide whether Nate will still win the money. As you'll watch above, the news anchor doesn't sound too confidant that an insurance company will bend the rules for the young slap shot.

Good luck, boys! We hope you get the money because that was an incredible shot! The least they can do is let Nick take a shot if they won't award his brother with the prize.

If it's not one thing, it's another.

Paris Hilton is being sued by the insurance company of Damiani jewelry, claiming she hasn't returned $60,000 worth of loaned jewels.

In the suit filed by Allianz Global insurance, the jewelry in question was part of the $2.8 million stash that was stolen from her house by the Hollywood Bling Ring back in 2009. The pricey goods were eventually recovered and returned to Hilton, but according to the insurers she still has them.

Allianz even blames Paris for the robbery because she left her front door unlocked and didn't keep the loaned jewelry in a safe when they weren't being worn.

A rep for Hilton was quick to respond to the allegations, telling the NY Post:

"We only just received the complaint but it is clear that it is not based on fact. Among other things nobody from the Hilton team ever told the insurance company that the Damiani items that were stolen were returned. We are not aware of any of the Damiani items being recovered by the police, only costume jewelry was recovered."

Hopefully this one will have the same outcome as her hair extension lawsuit.

More bad news for Lisa Rinna and her husband Harry Hamlin.

The couple's insurance company ADT, which Harry called "useless" on live television, may drop them as clients after their Sherman Oaks boutique was robbed twice in one week.

The thieves made off with at least $100K worth of merch, which the insurance company will cover — for now.

Lisa says the break-ins have caused them to lose customers, explaining: "People are a little afraid to come to the store right now… I think it scared them off a little bit."

Can't say we blame them.
