We understand trailing MSNBC and Fox News in ratings has them on edge, but that's no excuse to cut corners!!

CNN, like every other news outlet in the United States, focused around-the-clock coverage this week on the tragic bombings at the Boston Marathon.

Unlike most of those other news outlets, CNN's Peter King boasted to have "EXCLUSIVE!" information that suspects were arrested and the network blindly ran with it for much of Wednesday afternoon.

As we'd later all find out, CNN and Mr. King were very very wrong — no arrest was made at all!

Maybe Peter's source was a liar. Or misinformed. Or imaginary.

We don't know, but millions of folks were trusting CNN and they dropped the ball!

While reporting rumor as fact is certainly one way to jazz up ratings, there is often dire consequences. Credibility, for one, is all but lost!

During a recent interview, Jimmy Kimmel said that he was asked to be the Roastmaster for Charlie Sheen's roast, but he declined the offer.

Well, at least she tried!

Although Lady GaGa caused a bit of controversy when she agreed to set up a partnership with Target, due to their past donations to anti-gay politicians, the singer publicly explained that it was part of a way for the company to make amends and work toward bettering their relationship with the LGBT community!

However, obviously the chain failed to do so, because we're hearing now that she dissolved the deal!

A source explains:

"She and Target didn't see eye to eye on Target's policy of political donations and how they affect the LGBT community."

Well, then we're glad that she got herself out of a situation that she clearly was not comfortable in!

It's very sad that Target couldn't realize what a serious statement they're making with certain political donations.

You did the right thing, Mother Monster, and we cannot commend you enough!

We're sorry, but we don't think this is a good idea AT ALL. This move seems all types of sacrilege to us.

On Wednesday, Alcon Entertainment announced that they've almost secured the rights to Blade Runner prequels, sequels, and "other projects."

Here's what Alcon had to say about it in a written statement:

"…This is a major acquisition for our company, and a personal favorite film for both of us. We recognize the responsibility we have to do justice to the memory of the original with any prequel or sequel we produce. We have long-term goals for the franchise, and are exploring multi-platform concepts, not just limiting ourselves to one medium only.”

While there's something cool about exploring the Blade Runner universe further, we're very concerned that this could ruin the integrity of the original.

We'll give you credit if you can prove us otherwise, Alcon, but for now we remain EXTREMELY skeptical.

Do you REALLY feel the need to ruin the integrity of these classic/hit films, Miramax and Weinsteins? You're both better than this or so we thought.

The Weinstein Company and Miramax have announced a major partnership to create sequels for classic/hit films that the Weinsteins made with Miramax before they parted ways.

Films that are being prepped for unnecessary sequels include Shakespeare In Love, Bad Santa, Swingers, Rounders, and Bridget Jones's Diary again.

Here's what the Weinsteins said about this deal in a statement:

"We are very close to these films and the new management of Miramax also feels that we are in the best position to create sequels that are at once worthy and compelling in their own right."

If you want to mess with Bad Santa or Rounders…fine…but Shakespeare in Love and Swingers are classics!

…And you should know better than to make ANOTHER sequel to Bridget Jones's Diary. We seriously don't need it.
