Man, we thought this Brian Williams thing was kind of an isolated incident, some sort of mistake that got out of hand.
But it looks like embellishment may be a real problem for the NBC Nightly News anchor — or should we say former?

Williams was suspended for six months following the revelation that his story of being shot at while riding in a helicopter during the Iraq War was untrue.
But that wasn't the only measure NBC took. They also launched an inquiry to make sure no other falsehoods would bite their newsman in the butt.

Bill O'Reilly was recently on the Late Show and talked to David Letterman about truth and accuracy in the news.
So of course Brian Williams came up.
Brian was suspended for lying about events while covering the Iraq war in 2003.
Bill found himself in a similar situation recently when his 1982 account of the Falklands war and his proximity to it was questioned. So it makes sense that Bill feels for Brian and hopes he gets reinstated.

At one point Letterman straight up asks O'Reilly if he's ever lied on the air. And of course Bill couldn't give a straight answer.
Yet again Bill O'Reilly manages to talk a whole lot and not really say anything.
Check out the video (below) to hear Bill O'Reilly try and defend himself and Brian Williams.

This is a bold move!
Brian Williams just announced that he'll be LEAVING his show NBC Nightly News although it will only be a temporary departure!
Williams has been in hot water ever since it was revealed that a story he's been telling for years - about a helicopter he was on getting hit by a RPG - was actually false and he was on a different helicopter.
But we guess Brian's original apology was NOT enough as the situation has snowballed until his just announced departure!
Lester Holt will be taking over for Brian Williams in the meanwhile while NBC conducts their own internal investigation.

Since Brian Williams admitted to lying about being on a helicopter that took fire in Iraq, many have wondered if he's lied about anything else.
Currently in question is Williams' depiction of seeing a dead body float by in New Orleans' French Quarter during Hurricane Katrina — an area that did not actually experience flooding.

Williams' claim that he got dysentery from accidentally ingesting floodwater during his Peabody Award-winning coverage of the storm is also under review.
The Iraq lie alone has led many to ask how long he'll remain as the anchor on NBC Nightly News.
According to NBC sources, one of the people looking for Williams to resign is his predecessor Tom Brokaw! A source said:

Eesh. We like it better when he unknowingly raps Snoop songs.
Brian Williams has admitted that the tune he has been singing about his time in the Iraq War was just as fake.

The NBC Nightly News anchor has told the story several times of an event in 2003 when he and his news crew were aboard a Chinook helicopter when it was hit by a rocket and had to land.
But it turns out that isn't what happened at all. Williams went on the air (above) Wednesday night to apologize.
Apparently several soldiers refuted his version of events, saying that
