Iron Man 2 Opens Big!

This should make the studio very happy.

Despite the mixed reviews the flick is getting, Iron Man 2 scored big at the box-office on its opening day. The flick took in $52.4 million stateside on Friday, which is nearly a 50% increase from the original Iron Man two years ago.

But that's not all!

The flick now ranks as the 5th highest grossing at the box-office, raking in $133.6 million domestically on its opening weekend.

Good way to start things off!

Mickey Rourke Doesn't Respect Most Actors

Filed under: Z ListGwyneth PaltrowMickey Rourke

Now that Mickey Rourke has resurrected his career, he's letting people know how he really feels.

After going from the low budget indie The Wrestler where he "didn't even have a chair to sit in," to this summer's big blockbuster Iron Man 2, he's revealed that he's not too happy with most of today's young actors and actresses.

The outspoken star actor says:

"You can be less than mediocre and be a f*****g movie star. I have respect for very few actors and actresses. Some of them get a lot of acclaim but just because their movie made $200 million at the box office, they still suck. I got no respect for them and I used to let them know it. It was important for me to put that aside and go, 'You know what? This is a business. If you kiss the right a*s and you get lucky on a movie or two, you could last 10 years.' So, now, I just keep my mouth shut and pet my chihuahuas."

He even goes on to talk about an unnamed actress in particular, adding:

"If they know their work, fine, if they're don't, f**k 'em. I worked with an actress recently who, despite having a reputation as a 'good actress', s**ts herself when that little red light comes on. She's fooled everyone into thinking she's a lot better than she is."

LOL! We wonder who he's talking about??

Maybe his Iron Man 2 co-star, Gwyneth??

Hmm, we're just sayin'!

Major SPOILERS On Secret J.J. Abrams Flick's Preview!!

This thing sounds EFFING crazy! We can't wait!

We've been hearing a lot of talk about J.J. Abrams' next, super secret flick, Super 8. First we heard news that Steven Spielberg was collaborating on the project, then we were discovered that the teaser trailer would premiere before Iron Man 2, and might be a sequel to Cloverfield.

Today, an insider leaked an entire rundown of what to expect from the teaser, with some legit information about the movie!

Unfortunately, Super 8 has nothing to do with Cloverfield or the monster friend stomping around in that flick, but instead is an original work which takes place in 1979.

Despite speculation, we can confirm that J.J. Abrams is both writer and director, and Steven Spielberg and Amblin Entertainment are producing the feature!

AND (SERIOUS SPOILERS AHEAD) the trailer apparently looks something like this:

The trailer lasts about one minute and a half.

It begins with the Green MPAA screen, followed by the Paramount Pictures logo. No Bad Robot at the header.

A train rushes by the screen. We notice that it has lots of cargo.

Text comes on the screen: “In 1979, The U.S. Air Force Closed A Section of AREA 51.

We see the railroad crossing light blinking and ringing as the camera pans up we see some sort of light moving in the background. What is it? A UFO?

More Text: “All The Materials Were To Be Transported To A Secure Facility In Ohio.

No, it appears to be the headlights of a yellow 1970’s truck, which skids in a 180 degree motion, and suddenly pulls onto the tracks.

Point of view of the truck heading into the light.

Black screen and white text: “From Producer Steven Spielberg

We see the truck explode as it hits the train.

Then… the cargo train is heading towards the car explosion - BAM. It is wrecked, thrown from the tracks like a wild snake. The flaming metal body flipping towards the camera. Cars flying through the air. It is INTENSE.

Another black screen and the text: “And Director J.J. Abrams

The camera really slowly moves in on the wrecked pieces of the train, most of which is now just scrap metal. At least one car remains intact.

Black screen, white text: “Next Summer

We see some sparks.

Black screen, white text: “It Arrives

We pull up on one of the train cars with a US Airforce logo. The wheel on the door begins to spin out of control as we pull in closer. The wall of the door begins to bend like some huge force is punching it from the inside.

Cut to one second of a close up of an 8mm camera lens.

Cut to black. White text: “Super 8

The credits at the end were pretty bare.

Paramount Pictures Presents, An Amblin Entertainment/Bad Robot Production

Super 8

Produced By Steve Spielberg J.J. Abrams Bryan Burk

Written and Directed by J.J. Abrams

And the bottom featured the Amblin Entertainment, Bad Robot and Paramount Pictures Logo.

It definitely feels like a late 1970’s Spielberg film, think Close Encounters of a Third Kind. I’m excited to see what the actual movie is about.

Wow! Since it's Abrams, we're not surprised the deets are pretty vague, but we think it sounds intense enough to spark people's interest!

We're looking forward to it! We LOVEZ us a good, old fashioned alien flick!

Could Iron Man 2 Set A Box Office Record?

Possible. We're not talking Avatar level, but it still could make a huge stir!

Parmount Pictures is expecting a high return on Iron Man 2 at the box-office this weekend. There is even talk of the flick over-ranking The Dark Knight in sales. Knight opened to the sound of $158.4 million back in 2008.

That's a pretty tough act to follow.

The flick opens tonight at midnight at over 2,500 screens across the nation.

Exciting DEETS About J.J. Abrams' Secret New Movie!

Anyone who knows anything about J.J. Abrams is aware that he likes secrets just as much that sneaky Smoke Monster on his confusing as hell show, Lost, so it's no surprise that he's being tight-lipped about one of his next cinematic endeavors!

However, we've gotten wind on some info about the project, and we think it's going to be just as big a shocker to you as it was to us!

The film is called Super 8, and will be produced, but NOT directed by J.J!

The first teaser trailer for the film will premiere before Iron Man 2, so you won't have to wait too much longer to see it.

And, most shocking of all, the film is rumored to be the long-awaited and much-speculated-about SEQUEL to his shaky-cam, holy-shit-WTF-monster-flick, Cloverfield!

If this is true, then we CANNOT wait!! Cloverfield was out of control!

If anyone knows any more details, FILL US IN!!

What do U think?? Are U excited for Super 8??

Iron Man 2 Experiencing Some Leakage!

Uh oh!

Well that is going to hurt its box-office numbers. (Except not at all!)

Because the studio decided to rush release Iron Man 2 overseas before the flick made it to theaters here in the U.S., sources are reporting that pirated copies of the superhero epic are already online for people to download.

If you are waiting to see Paramount flip its crazy on the Internet, you're wasting your time. The studio released a statement, saying that the piracy was "disrespectful," but said and did nothing more.

Perhaps that is because they realize, as we do, that fans of the franchise want to see their smokeshow superhero fly across the big screen, not the little one and certainly not off someone's dinky camcorder.

If you give the people IMAX, they will still come. No doubt Iron Man will take the top of the box office this weekend, no problem.
