At the 2016 PEN Literary Awards Gala in New York on Monday, humanitarian award recipient J.K. Rowling gave a speech in which she actually defended the man she once compared to Voldemort!

Unlike George R.R. Martin in his Game Of Thrones books, J.K. Rowling actually feels bad about the characters she kills off!

Today marks the 18th anniversary of the Battle Of Hogwarts — it took place on May 2, 1998 — and as tradition goes, the Harry Potter author celebrated by once again apologizing for another casualty from the epic battle!

This year, Rowling apologized for killing off Remus Lupin in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, explaining to fans that she chose to kill the fan favorite character because she decided to let another character live!

Warner Bros. Claims Batman V Superman Disappointment Has NOT Hurt Their Schedule — As They Add Two NEW DC Movies!

Despite negative critic reviews, Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice still had a pretty explosive first weekend at the box office, setting the March record with $166.1 million domestic opening.

But after that the superhero team up had a HUGE drop off — 69 percent to be exact, a drop largely attributed to poor word of mouth.

J.K. Rowling Inspires Dreamers By Sharing NEW Rejection Letters From Publishers — Under Her Fake Pen Name Robert Galbraith!

Even if you write one of the most successful book series of the past century, it can still be hard getting your work published!

That's what J.K. Rowling proved when she was pitching new books under the pseudonym Robert Galbraith over the past few years.

The Harry Potter author previously revealed she wrote under the fake name because she wanted her future work to be unbiased and let it "stand or fall on its own merits."

And apparently, there was a lot more falling than standing, because Rowling shared with her fans a few of the rejection letters she got from publishers who weren't fans of Galbraith's work!

J.K. Rowling's New Harry Potter Story Has Really Upset Some Native Americans — Find Out Why!

When J.K. Rowling announced the release of four new Harry Potter universe stories titled The History of Magic in North America, we thought wizards, witches, and muggles around the world would be thrilled.

Well since the first of the stories was released on the author's interactive website Pottermore yesterday, there are some fans who haven't been too pleased with the work.

Dr. Adrienne Keene who runs the site Native Appropriations – a "forum for discussing representations of Native peoples, including stereotypes, cultural appropriation, news, activism, and more" — was particularly upset.

We can never get too much Harry Potter!

Last week, J.K. Rowling took to Twitter to make a pretty AH-Mazing announcement about Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them as she revealed the book won't be just one movie, but rather a trilogy!

While that's pretty exciting news, we've got an even BETTER announcement for fans of the HP books as a new series of four original stories titled The History of Magic in North America will debut on Pottermore — the author's interactive website — this week!

Not only that, but the stories will dive into previously unexplored areas of the Potterverse — in the United States!

The stories will give fans more background on Salem witch trials, the Native American legend of the skin-walkers, the Magical Congress of the United States of America, and of course the U.S. version of Hogwarts known as Ilvermorny.

We're guessing this info will help fans understand the world Newt Scamander (AKA Eddie Redmayne) will be entering when FBaWtFT hits theaters on November 18, 2016!
