The mother of 36 year-old Rebecca Wingo - one of the 12 fatalities of the James Holmes Dark Knight Rises shootings - has decided to sue the Centrury 16 movie theater where the mass-killings took place, claiming their exit doors should have been more secure!

It is widely believed James Holmes had bought a ticket to the midnight showing of Dark Knight Rises and waited for 15 mins in screen 9, before exiting through one set of emergency doors leaving them propped open for convenient re-entry.

Former PhD neuroscience student James Holmes who opened fire on Dark Knight Rises moviegoers, killing 12 and injuring dozens of others was officially charged today with 24 counts of murder and 116 counts of attempted murder in an untelevised hearing.

Because James randomly shot into the Century 16 movie theater crowd and didn’t seem to be aiming at any one person in particular, he is being charged with “depraved indifference murder,” meaning there are two counts of murder for each victim.

The trial is expected to last at least a year, and no word yet as to whether James’ attorneys are looking to claim an insanity defense.

We're not sure whether James Holmes is actually legally insane or not, but he's trying REALLY hard to convince everyone in jail that he is.

Following his arrest at the scene of the shooting spree in Aurora, Colorado, he's been acting all sorts of strange. He has referred to himself as the Joker, couldn't concentrate in court, spit on guards and most recently, has claimed he doesn't remember a thing! As in, he has no recollection of killing 12 innocent people!

DC Entertainment decided to postpone the release of Batman Incorporated #3 in wake of the shootings in Aurora, Colorado and now we know why.

An email to comic book retailers said the issue "contains content that may be perceived as insensitive in light of recent events."

It turns out that the insensitive content includes a teacher pulling a gun on a classroom full of kids.

Sources are reporting that James Holmes, the man who allegedly massacred a Dark Knight Rises audience, had sent a notebook “full of details about how he was going to kill people” to a University of Colorado psychiatrist just DAYS before the attack.

Authorities were called to the campus on Monday morning after a professor reported receiving a package from Holmes, but it turned out to be from someone else. However, another sweep of the mailroom led to the discovery of a package that WAS from the accused murderer.

As excited as we were to see Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone back on the big screen this summer, Warner Bros.' decision to push back the release of Gangster Squad is probably for the best.

It's a no brainer that the film is presumably violent, but it apparently included a scene depicting a shoot out in a movie theater.

Had it not been for the tragic event that unfolded in Aurora, Colorado last Friday, viewers probably wouldn't have batted an eye during the sequence. However, the world has reacted to James Holmes' horrible shooting spree and no one really wants to be reminded of his actions.

The plan is to reshoot some scenes to make the movie work and then (tentatively) release it on January 11, 2013. The only obstacle standing in the studio's way is reassembling the ginormous cast of A-listers who are probably busy shooting other projects.

As James Holmes continues to act cray cray in custody by spitting on every guard he comes in contact with, he is taking on another characteristic of a character in the Dark Knight trilogy — a face mask!

The accused murderer has reportedly been muzzled with a face guard to prevent anymore saliva from spraying on other people.

As we've talked about before, there is a debate between the public and psychological experts alike as to whether or not Holmes is actually insane.

Some who have seen his behavior jump right to the conclusion that he MUST be crazy, while others point out that he fits the profile for an individual suffering from a mental illness like schizophrenia.
