Finally! An Arizona lawmaker saying something that makes us want to stand up and cheer!

State Senator Steve Gallardo announced this week that he’s gay. And it was the abhorrent discrimination bill that his colleagues passed that made him decide to come out!

Gallardo had argued against SB 1062, which would have made it legal for business owners to deny service to gay and lesbian customers, so long as they asserted their religious beliefs as reason.

Luckily that legislation died at the stroke of Governor Jan Brewer’s pen. But Gallardo knew now was the time to stand up and speak his own truth about who he was.

BOO!!!! FOX News Yanks Longtime Contributor Off Air After He Comes Out In Support Of Equal Rights!

Filed under: TV NewsGay Gay GayPolitik

It seems that FOX News has one way of handling anyone who opposes their conservatism…cutting them off! How very close-minded!

When longtime FOX News contributor Bernie Goldberg came on The Kelly File, we bet Shannon Bream, who was filling in for host Megyn Kelly, did not expect him to come to the defense of Jan Brewer's veto of Arizona's Anti-Gay Discrimination bill.

During his all too brief time on the show, Bernie made some pretty excellent points against such blatant discrimination:

Arizona Governor Vetoes Anti-Gay Bill! Hooray!

arizona governor jan brewer vetoes anti gay bill senate bill 1062

Finally! Some good news out of Arizona!!

The state's Republican lawmakers recently pissed off, well, everyone when they passed Senate Bill 1062, a measure which sought to legally condone many types of discrimination under the guise of protecting religious freedom.

Thankfully, mercifully, Governor Jan Brewer has come to her senses — just moments ago she VETOED that horrible, hateful bill instead of signing it into law!

Did Arizona's Republican governor veto it because the angels on her shoulder begged her to do the right thing? Or did she succumb to the pressure of all the pundits, politicians, and private companies who were calling her state out for passing such a preposterously mean-spirited bill in the first place?

We don't know, but she did tweet this:

Revenge is usually a dish best served cold. But one Arizona pizzeria is unleashing a piping-hot plate of payback to lawmakers who passed an anti-gay bill this week!

AZ Senate Bill 1062 gives business owners in the state the right to deny service to the LGBT community based on religious freedom!

So basically, legal discrimination…

Lovely.

As sick to our stomachs as this bill makes us, we might still have an appetite for a slice of Rocco’s Little Chicago pizza because their new store policy is just DELICIOUS!

They’re reserving the right to refuse service to Arizona legislators!

AH-Mazing!

Rocco’s posted this picture (above) on Facebook of a sign hanging in their window that states the restaurant's new anti-politician policy, along with a caption that read:

We're gonna have to go with Obama on this one. We have NOT been impressed with the Arizona Governor as of late!

Yesterday, Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer met with President Barack Obama on an airport tarmac outside Phoenix, and we're hearing that things got pret-ty heated between the two!

When asked about the intense conversation later on, Brewer had the following to say:

The National Council Of La Raza Calls Off Their Arizona Boycott After Achieving Success!

Arizona Governor Jan Brewer National Council La Raza Ends Boycott Immigration Law

The largest Latino civil rights advocacy group in the US has officially called off their Arizona boycott!

Imposed in May 2010, The National Council of La Raza began their boycott on the state after Governor Jan Brewer enacted the extremely controversial immigration law Senate Bill 1070.

The law required law enforcement to question those looking suspicious of being an illegal alien within the state of Arizona. This caused jaws to drop because it basically meant police had the right to profile.
