Star Wars salt and pepper shakers?! Someone MUST already have these! Then again…
We've come to learn that Star Wars creators rejected merchandise ideas similar to the salt and pepper shakers.
Jason Geyer and his buddies tried to package some merch ideas, including a R2-D2 wet bar and Yoda bottle cappers for Pepsi products. You know, the kind of some fans EAT UP as swag at Comic-Con and dig through 30 boxes of cereal to find.
But the Star Wars execs weren't buying it…at all…
And who could blame them? The franchise is the second highest grossing series, behind Harry Potter, and they've made a lot of dough doing it.
The franchise has made $1.6 billion in video games, $9B in toys, and a whopping $20B in licensing fees!
Sorry Jason and Co., Star Wars will be just fine with their own merchandise.
