Jeff Flake comes for Donald Trump!

Jeff Flake is trying to be on the right side of history!

The Republican Senator took the Congress floor on Wednesday to rip into Donald Trump ahead of POTUS' alleged "fake news awards," and he had no mercy!

He shamed the President over his anti-free press language, and even compared him to Joseph Stalin, the late dictator of the USSR!

In his impassioned speech, Flake expressed:

"Mr. President, it is a testament to the condition of our democracy that our own president uses words infamously spoken by Joseph Stalin to describe his enemies. It bears noting that so fraught with malice was the phrase 'enemy of the people,' that even Nikita Khrushchev forbade its use, telling the Soviet Communist Party that the phrase had been introduced by Stalin for the purpose of 'annihilating such individuals' who disagreed with the supreme leader. This alone should be a source of great shame for us in this body, especially for those of us in the president's party. For they are shameful, repulsive statements."

He later continued:

Rosie O'Donnell will do whatever it takes to squash the GOP's tax plan — even speak in Donald Trump's language!

The comedian took to Twitter on Tuesday to offer millions in cash to senators who vote against the "criminal" tax bill.

Her tweets specifically targeted Republican Senators Jeff Flake of Arizona and Susan Collins of Maine, who received offers of $2 million EACH — in cash (!!) — from the TV personality to vote "nay."

In her tweet to Collins, Rosie even specified that the senator could give her a call if she wanted to negotiate a number — but sadly, Rosie's Twitter lobbying didn't pay off.

Early Wednesday morning, the Senate passed the $1.5 trillion tax bill, with both Collins and Flake voting

Score one for the right side of history. And the law. And any sense of decency left in the country.

Republican Jeff Flake went against his own party on Tuesday, not just denying his support for accused child molester Roy Moore but actually donating money to his opponent, Democrat Doug Jones.

GOP Senator Speaks Out Against Trump AND The Republican Party For Supporting Him! Thankfully He's Not COMPLETELY Alone…

FINALLY!

Even if we don't agree with Conservatives about much, there is certain common ground we've taken for granted — checks and balances, the American dream, the Bill of Rights…

But under Donald Trump, all of that is under attack. So it's about damn time one of the members of the party in power called out the GOP's support of this crooked, unqualified clown.

In his new book, The Conscience of a Conservative: A Rejection of Destructive Politics and a Return to Principle, Republican Senator Jeff Flake is the latest to speak out, and the first to do so in a comprehensive way about the entire systemic failure of the GOP to hold their principles above simply winning. He writes:

"If by 2017 the conservative bargain was to go along for the very bumpy ride because with congressional hegemony and the White House we had the numbers to achieve some long-held policy goals—even as we put at risk our institutions and our values—then it was a very real question whether any such policy victories wouldn't be Pyrrhic ones. If this was our Faustian bargain, then it was not worth it. If ultimately our principles were so malleable as to no longer be principles, then what was the point of political victories in the first place?"

About 25 GOP members of Congress were on a high school baseball field in Alexandria, Virginia practicing for Thursday night's Congressional Baseball Game, a Washington tradition since 1909. The charity game features Democratic House members facing off against Republican House members.

Alexandria Police said that the suspect, described as a white male in his 40s or 50s, is in custody and "not a threat." The department shared on Twitter:
