Anderson Cooper And Kathy Griffin Film A CNN Pilot Together!! New Show Might Be In The Works!

anderson cooper kathy griffin cnn pilot

Anderson Cooper and Kathy Griffin could be heading to CNN as a permanent duo!

According to Deadline, the two filmed an hour long pilot today at CNN studios in New York’s Time Warner Center in front of a live audience. Apparently, CNN president Jeff Zucker was in attendance, too!

Though the details are unclear, it seems Jeff, in an attempt to change things up for the news network, might be hoping to rake in some ratings with the usually well-received Kathy and Anderson.

Need we remind you of Kathy’s hilarious New Year’s Eve kiss? Anderson’s reaction was PRICELESS! LOLZZZ!

We really, REALLY hope this is true!!

If the rumors of Elisabeth Hasselbeck's imminent departure from The View are true, it sounds like she'll have no problem landing on her feet!

After all, homegurl IS a survivor! Ha!

With Soledad O'Brien and Roland Martin recently getting the axe, it looks like new network president Jeff Zucker is playing a little game we like to call Extreme Makeover: CNN Edition! A source close to the situation says they are definitely looking to fill some of these open anchor positions, and Elisabeth could be on their short list:

Anderson Cooper 360° Is Cut Down To 180°!

anderson cooper 360 cnn axe

This is more shocking than when Kathy Griffin kissed his crotch!!!

It saddens us to report that we will no longer be getting a double helping of Anderson Cooper on CNN!

The Silver Fox's weekday nighttime show, Anderson Cooper 360°, will continue to air new episodes at 8pm, but it will no longer air repeats at 10pm.

Say it isn't so!!!

The axe is due to major changes at the network by chief Jeff Zucker, who plans to give a new hire the 10pm slot.

Keith Olbermann Opens Up About Leaving MSNBC And Joining Current TV

Filed under: TV NewsMedia MinuteBusiness Blitz

keith olbermann on leaving msnbc and joining current tv

Now that Keith Olbermann has his new show Countdown and is bringing together his contributors, he seems to be in a pret-ty secure position, and has finally decided to open up about leaving MSNBC and joining Current TV

Here are a couple of the reasons that Olbermann gives for joining Current TV:

- He got a pay raise from $7 million to $10 million/year
- He has has been named chief news officer for Current TV, and has been given an equity stake in the network

And here's more from Olbermann on his move from MSNBC to Current TV:

"It's been fascinating, to see the assumption that this is some sort of bizarre move for me. I have achieved what I wanted to achieve. I'm better off at some sort of independent place where they not only like what I produce but also trust me to be the one to produce it."

And here's Olbermann on how he got into MAJOR TROUBLE at NBC by gossiping about Jeff Zucker during the Comcast merger:

"There was a lot of speculation about what would happen. One surprisingly accurate bit of speculation on every floor of the building was, 'I betcha they don't keep Jeff.' And apparently he heard that I had said this. I was there and I was a convenient punching bag and everybody would believe everything they said about me. And so off I went."

Sorry to hear about the drama, but def sounds like Keith's move from MSNBC to Current TV was a positive one in quite a few ways. More money, more power, AND more creative freedom? Sounds good to us!

What do U think about Keith's reasons for moving to Current TV after MSNBC? Would U do the same thing?

Jeff Zucker To Start A New Talk Show With Katie Couric?

jeff zucker and katie couric might collaborate on talk show

What does a person do after stepping down as CEO of NBC Universal?

According to multiple sources, Jeff Zucker wants to start a talk show with Katie Couric.

Here's what a source had to say about it:

"Whatever you want to say about Jeff, he's a really talented, creative guy. They've made magic before, there's no reason they couldn't do it again."

Here's what a spokesman for Couric had to say about the potential new gig:

"Katie has not made any decision about her future plans. Jeff has been a close friend and confidante of Katie's for years and they've enjoyed great success together, so it's natural that people would speculate about them collaborating again."

Could be an inneresting next project for Katie, now that her five year contract with CBS is coming to a close.

Would U like to see a new talk show with Katie Couric as the host?

Jeff Zucker FIRED! And Talking About It!

web-zucker__opt1.jpg

He really screwed the pooch with Conan, so we're not surprised!

Insiders are revealing that Jeff Zucker was indeed FIRED this morning, after having a conversation with Comcast COO Steve Burke two weeks ago to discuss what would happen after to the two merged.

Zucker reportedly finished finalizing the details of his severance package this morning, hence the sudden announcement to his employees! And now he's talking to the press about his firing stepping down!

He explains:

“He made it clear that they wanted to move on at the close of the deal and I was completely comfortable with that. We had both gotten to the same place. Look, I knew from the day this was announced that this was a possibility. I wasn’t going to shut the door on anything. But in the last nine months it became increasingly clear that they did want to put their own team in place — and I didn’t want to end up being a guest in my own house."

Good riddance, bb!

Let's just all hope things start looking up from here on out!

And in case you're interested, check out the e-mail he sent to entire staff of NBC Universal this morning AFTER THE JUMP!
