Steven Avery's Lawyer From Making A Murderer Is Writing A Book!

Making A Murderer has been out for quite a while, but one lawyer from the Netflix docuseries wants to continue the conversation!

On Monday, it was revealed that Jerry Buting, one of Steven Avery's defense attorneys, has signed a book deal!

The lawyer's publication will aim to attack the criminal justice system for being "dysfunctional" as he reflects on his 35-year career.

Jerry previously represented the 53-year-old, who was accused and ultimately convicted of murdering Teresa Halbach in 2005.

And since that controversial case has raised so many questions about the justice system on its own, we're really curious to see which of his other legal battles have sparked speculation as well!

The book will be published next year by HarperCollins, and we're willing to bet it'll be flying off the shelves, since there are so many Making A Muderer fans out there!

Making A Murderer Attorneys Are Putting On A Two-Man Show To Discuss Steven Avery's Case Live Onstage

This is either going to be super informative… or really exploitative!

The controversial case of Teresa Halbach's murder has become a national sensation ever since Netflix first premiered Making a Murderer two months ago.

The ten-part docu-series follows the trial and eventual convictions of Steven Avery and Brendan Dassey and ignited a conversation about corruption in the Police force.

And while America may have become enamored in the investigation thanks to a TV show, the story is about to come to life through a whole new medium: live theater.

Steven's former attorneys Dean Strang and Jerry Buting were fan favorites from the series, and are looking to capitalize on their notoriety to teach other people about the "systemic failures of the criminal justice system."

Making a Murderer has been making national headlines ever since it premiered on Netflix in December.

While the public consensus is that there actually was reasonable doubt that Steven Avery and Brendan Dassey committed the rape and murder detailed in the docu-series, Dolores Avery has taken things one step further — She doesn't even think Teresa Halbach is dead!

During an interview with Boston's WAAF radio on Friday, the matriarch of the Manitowoc family admitted that she thinks the Sheriff's Department planted Teresa's bones back in 2005, saying:

Steven Avery's Ex-Lawyer Says His Former Fiancée Is Not A 'Reliable Witness' & Still Believes His Old Client Is Innocent!

As we reported, Steven Avery's former fiancée dramatically changed her tune about whether or not she believes her ex is guilty.

ICYMI, Jodi Stachowski's interview for Nancy Grace's HLN show aired Wednesday night, and she adamantly expressed that she feels the Making A Murderer subject is "not innocent."

On Thursday, Jerry Buting — one of Steven's defense attorneys from the Netflix docu-series — discredited her new claims and STILL believes the 53-year-old is telling the truth, opening up to Rolling Stone:

"Realize that there was a fair amount of coverage with Jodi [in the documentary]. She was getting a lot of pressure, even while the trial was going on, to try and turn her away from Steven Avery. It's many years, who knows what kind of pressure and influences have been exerted against her to try and make express that kind of opinion."

He continued to say that what really matters is her opinion from the time of the trial, adding:

"Bottom line is that when things were contemporaneous, happening back during that time, she did not have that opinion. She was very supportive of him. So, why is she changing her opinion? I don't know at this point."

However, in her sit-down, Jodi claimed that the only reason she had been standing by her man was because he "used to beat" her, and told her she had to "make him look good" in the doc "or else."

But Jerry doesn't believe his old client's former flame can really be taken at face value regarding these allegations, saying:
