Eagles Of Death Metal Frontman Apologizes For Calling Parkland Shooting Survivors 'Vile Abusers Of The Dead'

Jesse Hughes totally didn't mean to call the Parkland shooting survivors "vile abusers of the dead."

The Eagles of Death Metal frontman issued an apology for his insensitive Instagram post in which he seemingly bashed the teen survivors of the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School shooting for their viral blitz on gun control reform.

The rocker shared a video Saturday afternoon trying to explain why he publicly claimed the telegenic teens were "exploiting" the deaths of their friends, clarifying that he was commenting on "the hijacking" of the "beautiful agenda" of gun safety led by the nation's youth — not the youth themselves.

Hughes admitted that his message was lost in his typo-ridden post, which instead came across as a "mean spirited personal attack and slight of the youth themselves."

The singer also spoke on the shooting at the Bataclan in 2015, acknowledging that surviving such a tragedy should have made him handle this situation "more maturely and responsibly." Yeah, no kidding.

Hughes wrapped up his statement by begging for forgiveness, saying he "did not mean to do" what it seemed like he was doing. We guess he changed his mind about shooting survivor Emma Gonzalez being "survivor of nothing" and the "awful face of treason"?

Watch his full apology (below).

We're a little shocked by his opinion on the matter.

It's been 94 days since 89 people were shot to death at a concert inside Paris' Bataclan theater, and now one man behind the show is speaking out about his controversial stance on gun control.

Eagles of Death Metal have already talked about their experience with the terrorist attack back in November, but frontman Jesse Hughes' latest solo interview reveals he is actually extremely pro-gun.

We can't even being to imagine what this must have been like for them.

As you're surely aware, Paris went through a series of terrorist attacks almost two weeks ago that left 130 people throughout the city dead.

89 of those victims were attending a concert at the Bataclan on Nov. 13 to see the band Eagles of Death Metal perform, and while the members have spoken out about the massacre and the loss of their merchandise manager Nick Alexander, their first full sit-down interview was released on Wednesday.

VICE spoke with co-founder/vocalist Jesse Hughes, bassist Matt McJunkins, guitarist Eden Galindo, drummer Julian Dorio, and sound engineer Shawn London about their terrifying experience, as well as co-founder Joshua Homme who was not at the venue the night of the shootings.

It's an incredibly moving 26-minute piece, and while many would probably see the killings as reason to never play again, EODM stated that they're actually doing the opposite — using the ordeal to provoke positive change in the world.

Eagles of Death Metal managed to escape the building before they were taken hostage, but unfortunately not all of their crew members made it out alive.
