We just love a good fan theory — especially ones like this Grease interpretation that just went viral!
The reading that Sandy might be dead the entire time may have seemed far-fetched to begin with, but the more we read the explanation, the more we started to see the classic musical in a completely different light!
We weren't the only ones who had to know if this alternate take was embedded into the film on purpose!
TMZ went straight to Jim Jacobs, who cowrote the book and musical with Warren Casey, to ask about the origin of the spooky slant.
Sadly for fans of the new take, Jacobs says the idea is completely crazy — Sandy was definitely alive the whole time in his original vision.
Then again, the car flying away is what kicked off the whole theory… and that was something added to the movie, apparently by screenwriter Bronté Woodard — who died just 2 years after the film opened.
So we may never know if the "flying to heaven" ending theory holds any water.
What do YOU think??
