It makes sense, then, that his guitars are very, very valuable — and when one was allegedly stolen, his estate came down hard to
get it back!
The guitar - an Acoustic Black Widow — was owned by Jimi's dad after the rocker's 1970 death — and later given to Experience Hendrix, LLC, the licensing company in charge of Jimi Hendrix music and merchandise.
At some point in 2014, according to the lawsuit Experience Hendrix filed, the guitar was taken from their possession!
