Al Roker may be the weatherman of the Today show, but he is bringing down the HEAT on Ryan Lochte for lying about getting robbed in Rio!

On Friday's broadcast, the NBC anchor went off on the Olympic swimmer after it was revealed his claims of being robbed at gunpoint with teammates Jimmy Feigen, Gunnar Bentz and Jack Conger, at a gas station in Brazil were false!

After Lochte insisted he was telling the truth, surveillance footage from the gas station showed that the swimmers were not robbed, but had a confrontation with security guards after causing damage to the bathroom — clearly exposing the Olympian's lie!

Not only did Roker slam the athlete for repeatedly lying about his story (nobody lies to Matt Lauer and gets away with it!), but for leaving his teammates detained in Brazil — where Bentz and Conger eventually admitted that their story was "fabricated" — while he jetted back to the US.

After his on air spout, Roker took to Twitter to retweet Lochte's apology, advising others to "accept it and move on":

Things are not going swimmingly for him right now…

Ryan Lochte may have won a gold medal at the 2016 Summer Olympics, but he really captured the world's attention when he claimed that he and three of his teammates were robbed at gunpoint in Rio de Janeiro.

However, after local authorities confirmed that there actually was no mugging… Ryan finally apologized for his inappropriate behavior on Friday morning (though still didn't technically take responsibility for falsifying a police report).

His privilege may be keeping him from seeing the severity of his actions right now, but we have a feeling that losing MILLIONS in endorsements may just drive the point home!

According to a Forbes estimate, the 32-year-old could say goodbye to anywhere between $5-$10 million in future wages if he loses contracts with brands like Ralph Lauren, Speedo, and Airweave due to

It looks like the case is officially closed on #LochteGate!

Ever since Ryan Lochte claimed he and three Olympic swimmers were held up at gunpoint at a gas station bathroom in Rio early Sunday morning, there's been doubt whether the athletes were actually the victims of crime.

On Thursday, United States Olympic Committee CEO Scott Blackmun confirmed what Brazilian police have been saying all week, that Lochte, Gunnar Bentz, Jack Conger, and Jimmy Feigen were the committers of crime that night — and had been involved in vandalizing a gas station bathroom.

Throughout the week, Lochte insisted he was telling the truth — that he and his teammates were robbed by men dressed as police officers — but raised some eyebrows when parts of his story didn't add up and was inconsistent when retold in an interview with Matt Lauer.

However, during a Thursday press conference, Civil Police Chief Fernando Veloso said there "was no robbery," and that Brazilian authorities believe the Olympians lied to cover up

Ryan Lochte is STILL standing by his story.

During a press conference on Thursday, Rio's Chief of Civil Police Fernando Velaso told the media that "there was no robbery" at gunpoint, like the Olympian had claimed.

Instead, investigators say the scandalized swimmer is making up this story to cover up the fact that he and his teammates vandalized a gas station bathroom.

But now, the 32-year-old's camp is claiming the press conference was a load of BS!

Ryan Lochte is definitely in hot water now.

Earlier this week, the US Olympian alleged that he and three other swimmers were robbed at gunpoint on their way back from a club in Rio over the weekend.

But due to the inconsistencies in Lochte's story — he first said the incident occurred when the group was pulled over but later changed to getting held up at a gas station — authorities haven't been buying the sketchy claim.

Now, it looks like the athletes might not have only been lying — but making up the story to cover up their own drunken debauchery!

According to the latest reports, Brazilian police have obtained gas station security footage that shows Lochte, Gunnar Bentz, Jack Conger, and Jimmy Feigen destroying a gas station bathroom and refusing to pay for the damage:

Before the Olympics even began, there was a lot of controversy surrounding the health and safety conditions in Rio, and last weekend's story of Ryan Lochte getting held up at gunpoint might be the worst we've heard — if it's true!

Over the weekend, the famed swimmer claimed that he and other Olympic athletes Gunnar Bentz, Jack Conger, and Jimmy Feigen were robbed by men pretending to be cops. Well as you may know, the Brazilian police haven't exactly been overly willing to trust the US swimmer's story.

While the Government wanted to question the 32-year-old, he had already left the country and was back home in the states. However, Brazil was able to detain Bentz and Conger — who have now been released — and questioned them about what went down. A rep for the United States Olympic Committee released a statement in response to the release, saying:

Is Ryan Lochte getting in too deep?

Earlier this week, the gold medalist alleged he was robbed at gunpoint at the Rio Olympics early Sunday morning.

The Olympic swimmer claimed he and teammates Gunnar Bentz, Jack Conger, and Jimmy Feigen were mugged by thieves pretending to be cops, which didn't come as much of a surprise based on earlier reports of theft and kidnappings surrounding the games.

However, not everyone is buying it! The Brazilian Government thinks Lochte is lying about the mugging and wants to call him in for questioning — but why would the American hero fabricate such a scary tale?

Well, according to Brazilian jiu-jitsu master Renzo Gracie, Lochte made up the story just so he could get out of an argument with his main squeeze Kayla Rae Reid!
