harry potter diagon alley expansion

Universal is totally milking the Harry Potter franchise for what it’s worth — which, if you ask us, is a WHOLE lot! Not that we’re complaining, of course. We now get to go to Diagon Alley!

Yes, that’s right! The Wizarding World of Harry Potter, the HP theme park located in Orlando, FL, is expanding to include its very own Diagon Alley by 2014! The magical shopping high street will be built in an entirely new portion on the Universal lot and will be connected to Hogwarts and Hogsmeade Village via the Hogwarts Express train. Mind-gasms galore!

The street will also include new shops, a second Harry Potter-themed restaurant, and a Gringotts Bank attraction!

Upon the announcement of the new park addition, J.K. Rowling stated:

J.K. Rowling Helped Harry Potter Director Chris Columbus Write A Children's Book!

Filed under: Harry PotterBookzStuff 4 Kidz

When Harry Potter & The Sorcerer's Stone director Chris Columbus decided to write a children's book, there was a pretty obvious person to talk to!

He sought the advice of Harry Potter creator J.K. Rowling!

Ch-ch-check out the video (above) to find out how J.K.- and British fans of The Goonies- helped to make House Of Secrets what it is!

So what did the super successful author have to say about the finished product? She wrote:

"A breakneck, jam-packed roller coaster of an adventure about the secret power of books, HOUSE OF SECRETS comes complete with three resourceful sibling heroes, a seriously creepy villainess, and barrel loads of fantasy and fear."

Nice! Though she did finish the quote with a JK, so we're really not sure if she liked it or not! LOLz!

J.K. Rowling Has Some Explaining To Do About Her Chinese Character!

Rachel Rostad is pretty badass at slam poetry, so we'll get that out of the way first and foremost!

Secondly, she makes some VERY good points in an open letter/poem to J.K. Rowling about the ONLY Chinese character in Harry Potter — and namely how her name doesn't make very much sense!

In a book that has completely made up worlds, creatures, characters, words, and EVERYTHING beautiful about the series, we never realized how kinda messed up it is to name the only Chinese character Cho Chang! Why? Because it's is a combination of two Korean last names!

You know, kinda like finding a Frenchmen named 'García Sánchez!'

At least that's the example that Rachel gives in rousing few minutes worth everybody's time (above)!

What say you, J.K.?? What say you, fans??

Will Harry Potter's creator be Dr. Who's next companion?! Or perhaps she'll pen an episode of the long-running, much beloved British science-fiction series??

Well, as we've learned from the Doctor, all things are possible…

But rumor has it J.K. Rowling is one of 11 celebrated authors chosen to write a short tale based on one of the 11 incarnations of Dr. Who, in honor of the show's 50th anniversary!

Publisher Juliet Matthews recently dished:

Harry Potter Scribe J.K. Rowling Brings Muggle-Centric Novel To TV!

a casual vacancy bbc tv adaptation jk rowling harry potter novel

Does BBC stand for Beefy Boner Channel?!

It certainly should, because that's exactly what popped into our undies when we heard this exhilarating news!

J.K. Rowling's new hit novel, A Casual Vacancy, is coming to the small screen and though there won't be wizards, dragons, or even the Dursleys of four Privet Drive, we're awarding 10 points to the BBC for making our pants-wands harden with anticipation!

A Casual Vacancy marked the ridiculously successful's author first attempt at an adult novel after a fairly successful series of young adult books called Harry Potter.

ACV a best-seller so it doesn't surprise us BBC One and BBC Drama are already committed an episodic adaptation!

Rowling plans to collaborate with the channel creatively and, if all goes well, the world could feast on the fruits of their labor as soon as 2014.

Mmm… fruit!!

If it just us, or is J.K. Rowling becoming even more inspirational??

Her story in becoming the writer she is today is astounding, and now that she's at an amazing level, she loves doing her part in giving back — she just announced a $16M donation to Edinburgh University to fund a clinic for multiple sclerosis and neurodegenerative disease.

That's not it, though. A new eBook version of her massively successful Tales of Beedle the Bardcompanion book is set to launch!

J.K. Rowling Drops The F Bomb (Among Other Things)

J.K. Rowling is most famous for a certain wizard who cast a spell on our hearts, but this lady isn't just a one trick pony!

And she's out to prove that and more with her new book The Casual Vacancy which sounds downright melancholic!

But this author isn't apologizing for her brash subject matter, and we're loving the new edginess!!

Keep doing your thang, girl!
