Joan Collins, star of countless roles — like Dynasty — has said she battled like many others to keep her waistline in check. In check with what those around her thought was 'appropriate.' She was asked often to slim down for roles, especially when she was in the spotlight!

Unfortunately, she complied, and she did it in increasingly unhealthy ways. She even once lost eight pounds in two weeks because she started taking amphetamine — AKA speed!

Naomi Watts channeled her inner Joan Collins for the Madrid premiere of The Impossible on Monday.

The 44 year old turned the red carpet into a winter wonderland in a white jacquard Marchesa Resort dress with puffy rosette shoulders.

Naomi completed her look with Christian Louboutin sandals and a Louis Vuitton mother of pearl clutch.

The dress had potential, but it feels too much like a bad 80s prom dress. And the shoes were just wrong.

In fact, when shown a recent photo of Kate Winslet during the Venice Film Festival, Joan revealed to the Daily Telegraph:

As for other stars, on Carey Mulligan she added:
