Duh! This is Joan Rivers we're talking about here! You think she doesn't have an opinion about it! C'mon!
If you haven't seen her documentary, Joan Rivers: A Piece of Work, then you're probably a member of the Academy board because no one nominated it for an Oscar this year. In fact, the movie was so snubbed, it didn't even make the short list of nominees!
Naturally, Joan has something to say about that. She told sources that she was "furious" that the flick got no recognition and she has her own ideas as to why! She explained:
"A head of a documentary board in England told me that we wouldn't get an Oscar nomination because it's not socially significant enough…What the fuck do you want? It's about ageism, survival, and being a woman. It should've been nominated!"
Couldn't agree more! Maybe certain people on the board need to stop thinking that a documentary is only good when the camera drudges through a third world country or someone addicted to huffing paint! This was a great movie, very poignant, very truthful about the biz!
Boo on you, Oscar!

Wow! There are always snubs, but these are pretty brutal!
The Academy Awards have announced their short list for Documentary Feature, and despite there being fifteen films in contention, they've not only excluded the much-talked about 'is it or isn't it real?' Catfish, but also the AMAZING Joan Rivers: A Piece of Work!
This really does suck, not just because we LOVE Joan, but because we truly believe that her documentary was fascinating - and SO well-made!
Check out the complete list of contenders…AFTER THE JUMP!
What do U think?? Was Joan snubbed??

Joan Rivers has always been one to dish it out, but can she take it?
A bitter ex-manager is suing Joan, claiming he was never paid for resurrecting her career. The guy, Billy Sammeth, says he was stiffed out of $179k even though he gave life to her "dormant career" by helping her get on Celebrity Apprentice and starring in her documentary, Joan Rivers: A Piece of Work.
And here is where the bitterness comes in. Billy also claims in his lawsuit that the documentary about Joan's life defamed him by making him appear to be a "disappeared" manager, whatever that means. Billy says he was humiliated and clearly, only money will ease the pain. So, he is suing both Joan and the production company for at least $2.2 million.
Good luck with that, buddy! A rep for Joan has already come forward on behalf of his client to say Joan is"confident that the judicial system will dispose of Mr. Sammeth's lawsuit in the appropriate manner."
We bet that was translated out of a slew of profanities and middle fingers on Joan's part!
