Oh, Mel Gibson!

The actor and director who has become better known for his bad temper than he has his professional body of work is wondering what he did to fall from grace.

During a recent interview about his short list of upcoming projects, the tabloid favorite was asked about Hollywood's forgiveness and said this in response:

To recap - screenwriter Joe Eszterhas recently accused Mel Gibson of A LOT of horrendous things, including murder plans and shaming the Holocaust!

THEN, Joe said that he'd caught most of Mel's rants on his iPhone!

Looks like he was telling the truth, because he's released a HORRIFIC recording (above), in which Mel says some absolutely deplorable and NSFW things!

We are NOT impressed. AT. ALL.

Mel Gibson is telling friends he never said John Lennon deserved to die!

Well imagine that!

After Joe Eszterhas accused him of shaming the late musician and activist (among many, many other claims), Mel and his friends apparently laughed their butts off!

In fact, one close source ever says he was playing Imagine at a recent function and says:

As we discussed earlier, Showgirls writer Joe Eszterhas has made disgusting claims about Mel Gibson as apparent retaliation for a rejected script.

They are just downright nasty, and if there's truth to them, well… Mel is gonna need a lot more than puppet therapy to cleanse himself of that kind of hate, LOLz!

And perhaps the most disturbing claim, though not a surprising one given their past, regards his numerous murder fantasies with ex Oksana Grigorieva.
