How Old Is Too Old For A Stroller?

Kids don't stay kids forever!

Someday your baby will be too big for a high chair, their dress-up clothes, and even their stroller. One perecious reader asks Jogger Mom for some help identifying when that time comes. She asks:

"My kids are 4 and 6 do you think they are too old to be in a jogging stroller while I run?"

Jogger mom's answer:

I had battled with this decision for months myself. My kids were getting older and growing less patient in the jogger. I still needed my daily dose of exercise and knew they could not keep up with me on a bike. I ended my jogging stroller journey with a Baby Jogger Performance stroller that held 150 lbs. Truth be told, I could still be pushing my 10 and 8 year old around in it today and be under the joggers weight limit!

I gave up my jogging stroller when it was no longer fun for both my children and I to go out for a run together. Just remember that you want it to be a positive experience for both of you. You will know when the time is right to go back and run solo again!

Happy Strolling!

EXCLUSIVE: The Best Stroller For Multiple Tots

The Best Stroller For Multiple Tots

Tons of people have more than one young (or small and lazy) child!

So why are most strollers only equipped to carry around one tot? That's what perecious reader Rachel has been asking. She ask JoggerMom.com's Kelly, Perezitos.com child transpiration super hero:

“I have a toddler and am expecting twin girls in April. I have no idea what stroller to get as there are not many triple strollers out there. Can you help?”

Kelly's answer:

Have no fear….I am here to help you. I know it can be very overwhelming finding out you are having not one but two babies. We had a toddler and then found out we were having triplets. I am living proof you too will survive!

Ok, Strollers….your choices are limited but, that does not mean that this is not one of the best in the market. We love this combination for parents of one plus twins. The stroller is a Valco Tri-Mode Twin plus a Joey seat with hood. What makes this stroller so great? It is only a double side by side which means you can easily go thru any standard doorway. Your toddler will be the “king of the stroller” in his joey seat.

The Joey seat is attached to the sides of the stroller offering stadium seating for him. A little factoid: Joey is what they call a baby kangaroo in Australia where this stroller is made! When your toddler is not using the seat you can simply stow it away under the stroller and bring out as you need it! This stroller with it’s high seat back will be the only stroller you will essentially need from birth until pre-school.

Happy Strolling!

EXCLUSIVE! The Perfect Travel Stroller!

EXCLUSIVE! The Prefect Travel Stroller!

Holidays = Traveling!

Packing for yourself is a stressful, but packing for the you AND a little a huge headache!

JoggerMom.com's Kelly is here to Perezitos.com reader's question about which toting their tots!

One inquisitive perezicous mommy needs a little help finding the perfect plane-friendly stroller. She asks:

"I am traveling to see my family out West soon and I do not want to bring my big clunky stroller on the plane what stroller should I use?

Jogger mom says:

Traveling with a little one is stressful enough without having to worry about what stroller you should bring. Most parents want the comforts of their full service stroller in a light weight frame. I am not saying go with an umbrella stroller. If you go with an umbrella stroller both your back and your wallet will be hurting. Your wallet will be because as soon as you land you will be looking to purchase another stroller! Here is the answer….purchase the lightweight, full function Baby Jogger City Mini.

Weighing in at a slim 16.8 lbs the City Mini will make it easy for you to catch the subway while holding onto baby and stroller. The fold is one quick step and the recline is near flat making it perfect for baby to get a quick nap in. I hope that you have a successful tripwith your baby!

EXCLUSIVE: How To Choose The Right Stroller And Car Seat Adapter

Why have a stroller that isn't compatible with your car seat?

JoggerMom.com's Kelly answers a Perezitos.com reader's question about which jogging strollers are the best on the market, that also doubles as an adapter for your car seat.

I have a Chicco infant car seat and cannot find a jogging stroller that has an infant seat adapter that will work with it?

Kelly recommends:

Chicco is one of the best rated infant seats in the market. Unfortunately, with this car seat you are a little more limited on the strollers that have a compatible infant seat adapter. I would go with one of the following brands Baby Jogger, BOB, and Bumbleride (light running) make an adapter to work with your Chicco seat.

Have a different car seat? Check out our Travel Systems page to find out what stroller and adapter bar will work with your car seat. Purchasing an infant seat is a big decision, but your child will only be in the seat for 8-12 months. I have found that it is better to choose your stroller and then purchase your infant seat. With a little planning you will not end up with a garage full of strollers.

Happy Strolling.

EXCLUSIVE: Which Jogging Stroller Is Right For You

Q&A with Kelly From JoggerMom.com!

Perezito's new contributor Kelly was asked:

“I am looking for a jogging stroller to train for my first half marathon with, what would you recommend?” - Melissa

Great question! Jogging while you stroll is a great way to get fit and spend time with your little one at the same time. Being Mommy is all about multi-tasking!

Here is Kelly's tip:

Hi Melissa,

Great question, training for a half marathon requires lots of training miles. You want a stroller that is easy to push and comfy for your little one. Here are the features I would look for:

-Large 12”- 20” tires
-Large Sun Hood
-Fixed Wheel/Swivel Wheel option
-Easy fold to store in your car
-Shocks for a smooth ride

The two strollers I would look at would be a BOB Revolution or a Mountain Buggy Terrain . The BOB is a little more sporty where as the Mountain Buggy is a little more classic in styling. I know that both would go the distance you are willing to push it. Finishing a half marathon is a great accomplishment; training with your baby is even bigger. Enjoy your time out on the road.
Happy Strolling!
