Trevell Coleman, who rapped under the name G-Dep, and was signed to a five-album deal with Diddy's Bad Boy Records in 1998, has reportedly admitted to an unsolved murder in Harlem that happened 17 YEARS AGO.
The rapper is said to have walked into the 25th Precinct in NYC on Wednesday night and said:
"I shot and killed someone 17 years ago."
According to Coleman, the crime took place in 1993, and he attempted to rob John Henkel, 32 at the time, and when the man resisted, he shot and killed him. He fled the scene and threw the weapon into the East River.
A source with authorities explains:
"It was just eating away at him."
He has since been charged with murder and is being held without bail.
Although it's a horrible and extremely ugly situation, we're glad that he took responsibility for his actions and is willingly accepting those consequences.
Hopefully the victims family can finally have some closure.
