Josh Brolin Asked Oldboy Director For Permission To Remake It

It's been a while since we heard anything about the remake of Park Chan-wook's Oldboy, but Josh Brolin was so serious about starring in the Spike Lee joint that he asked the South Korean director for permission!
As we have previously mentioned, the actor took over the lead role from Will Smith while Spike replaced Steven Spielberg. Before signing on though, Brolin reached out to Chan-wook to make sure he approved of Hollywood tinkering with his HIGHLY respected 2003 film.
