Utah Judge Removes Foster Baby From Same-Sex Parents Because Heterosexual Couple Will Be Better For The 'Child's Well-Being'!
One step forward, two steps back.
While Utah just made history by electing its first openly gay mayor, the latest news out of the Mormon state is downright heartbreaking.
Judge Scott Johansen ruled on Tuesday that a Carbon County lesbian couple would have to hand their foster child of three months over to a heterosexual couple for "the child's well-being."
Johansen isn't legally allowed to discuss his ruling in public, but the Utah Division of Child and Family Services confirms the decision WAS based on the couple being same sex — he cited research that children do better when reared by heterosexual couples.
UDCFS spent Wednesday deciding if April Hoagland and Beckie Peirce really had to give the baby girl over to the state since it's legal nationwide for same-sex couples to be foster parents.
But not only do the child's biological mother and a state-appointed attorney support April and Beckie… so does Hillary Clinton!
