Last we heard from our little blue friends, a new super-adorable trailer had been released for The Smurfs!

If THAT wasn't exciting for all the Smurfanatics out there, we've now learned that the release date for the movie has been pushed up a week from Aug. 5 to July 29.

Sony Pictures Animation made the decision to change the release date in an effort to avoid direct competition with Fox's Rise of the Apes, the James Franco-starring prequel which opens on Aug. 5.

We hope Sony's move works out for The Smurfs! It looks like a totally cute movie, and as we said before, Katy Perry is ADORBS as Smurfette!

Despite defense lawyers opposing her involvement, Naomi Campbell will be testifying in the war crimes trial against former Liberian President Charles Taylor.

The violent supermodel will be taking the stand on July 29th where she'll be questioned on all things blood diamonds.
