Carrie Fisher WILL Be In Star Wars Episode IX Thanks To Previously 'Unseen Footage'!

no title

The cast list for Star Wars: Episode IX was released on Friday, and there was a rather unexpected name — one that required some explanation.

Among returning stars Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, Lupita Nyong'o, Kelly Marie Tran, Billie Lourd, Mark Hamill, and OG Lando Billy Dee Williams, one name stood out — Carrie Fisher.

Director J.J. Abrams explained:

"We desperately loved Carrie Fisher. Finding a truly satisfying conclusion to the Skywalker saga without her eluded us. We were never going to recast, or use a CG character. With the support and blessing from her daughter, Billie, we have found a way to honor Carrie's legacy and role as Leia in Episode IX by using unseen footage we shot together in ‘Episode VII.'"

Considering this is all going to be real scenes Carrie filmed and not CG uncanny valley nonsense, this seems like a fair compromise to us.

It also means the late legend's film career will add one more huge hit to a storied career. See her other most famous movie roles (below)!

Star Wars Actress Kelly Marie Tran Deletes Instagram Posts After Months Of Being Harassed By Fans!

The Star Wars cinematic universe continues to grow, but its fandom continues to be overrun with problematic trolls.

The Last Jedi breakout star Kelly Marie Tran has reportedly deleted all of her Instagram posts after dealing with months of harassment from shithead fans.

The 29-year-old's dream came true when she was cast as the first first Asian-American actress to play a leading role in the franchise. But that dream turned into a nightmare when it became clear that fans detested her character — which sadly turned into an assault on the actress' race.

Tran has been the subject of sexist and racist comments from fans since her appearance in the 2017 film. The description of her character, Rose Tico, was even altered to feature offensive, racist
