It may have taken over a year, but Kevin McGuire FINALLY got his wish!

You may remember the then-18-year-old leukemia survivor's story from February of 2012, as his sister set up a Facebook page to invite Taylor Swift to join him at his prom!

Although the country cutie couldn't make the date, she instead offered to bring him as her date to the 2012 Academy of Country Music Awards, which he initially accepted…but by April, he couldn't go because of a fever brought on by his chemotherapy!

Thankfully, that didn't stop T-Swizzle from keeping him in her thoughts, and he was FINALLY able to get that date with his idol after she made sure to invite he and his family to this year's ceremony!

Well, it's not prom, but it's one HELL of a fallback!

As we reported, Kevin McGuire, an 18-year-old high school football star who has been battling leukemia since he was 13 and recently relapsed, had a Facebook page set up by his sister on which she invited Taylor Swift to be his date to Prom!

Well, the country cutie unfortunately cannot make it to the big night, but she did him one better - by inviting him to be HER date to the Academy of Country Music Awards!
