On Wednesday, it was widely reported that Elton John would be playing the President-elect's inauguration after one of Trump's team made the announcement — leaving many scratching their heads.
Anthony Scaramucci, a member of Trump's transition team executive committee, told the BBC the Rocket Man singer would be performing for the upcoming inauguration to show "our commitment to gay rights."
This obviously came as a shock, since the glam rock icon has been a huge Hillary Clinton supporter throughout the presidential race.
But as it turns out, Trump's team was spewing out total bull! A rep for the singer denied the announcement, telling the New York Post:
