Lamar Odom Reportedly Will 'Never Be The Same' After Fighting Kidney Failure & Lung Damage

So sad.

Although Lamar Odom is improving after being found unconscious at a legal Nevada brothel earlier this month, a source say his road to recovery has been a difficult one.

The 35-year-old had reportedly suffered a dozen strokes towards the beginning of his time in medical care. An insider explains that the ailing athlete has been getting better, but not without setbacks along the way:

"It's two steps forward, then a step back, but it does feel like some progress is being made, little by little. There's still a black cloud, like, 'Okay, what's next?'"

Last week, the NBA forward underwent emergency surgery, which was believed to be in response to a bout of pneumonia. The source says the illness proved to be problematic for the basketball player's condition, adding:

"The pneumonia was a huge setback, and now there's worry about permanent scarring of the lungs."

The famous father had also been facing issues with his kidneys, and reports are been circulating that could need a transplant. However, the insider explains his organs aren't ready for the operation just yet:

"His kidneys are still not functioning correctly, but he's nowhere near strong enough to even think of a transplant, so he's on dialysis."

While his body parts aren't in the best shape, source reveals he has made progress as far as responsiveness is concerned:

Khloé Kardashian Reportedly Wanted Lamar Odom Transferred To An LA Hospital For THIS Reason

Lamar Odom is back in Los Angeles, where he's recovering after being found unconscious at a legal Nevada brothel last week.

On Monday, the 35-year-old was discharged from Sunrise Hospital in Las Vegas — where he had received most of his treatment — and transferred to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in LA.

Now, a source is revealing just why the basketball star's estranged wife, Khloé Kardashian, wanted her ex to be moved to the southern California facility, saying:

"Khloé wants Lamar to get the best medical treatment possible."

Since the 31-year-old and the ball player are still technically married, it appears as though the reality TV personality has been calling the shots when it comes to the NBA forward's medical care.

She had also proven her dedication to her former flame by rushing out to Sin City to be by his side, where she's stayed ever since.

Considering the father-of-two is reportedly suffering from kidney failure, and might even need a transplant, an insider believes Khloé made the right decision by transporting him to the Beverly Hills hospital, adding:

"For someone with heart problems, there is really no better cardiology team in the country than the Cedars team. Cedars has put together the best team possible."

That's reassuring, especially because Lamar has supposedly struggled with a series of complications since he was discovered unresponsive at Love Ranch in Nevada.

We're just glad that the ailing athlete is in good hands and seems to be slowly improving.

This is so scary.

Lamar Odom is fighting for his life.

On Wednesday, sources inside Sunrise Hospital say the sports star has a 50/50 chance of surviving after being found unconscious at a legal Nevada brothel on Tuesday.

The 35-year-old has supposedly suffered from multiple strokes since he was admitted to the Las Vegas facility, and is also allegedly undergoing dialysis because of kidney failure.

But, it's being reported that four of the former NBA player's organs are shutting down. Insiders have also said that he's having heart problems as well.

Medical experts are reveal that every time another one of the athlete's body parts starts to fail, his odds only get worse. Doctors still haven't been able to asses any brain damage because it's tough to measure activity while there are problems with organs.

On Tuesday, employees at Love Ranch South discovered Lamar unconscious in his VIP suite, where he had been staying since Saturday.

The brothel's owner, Dennis Hof, said that when his staff turned the Olympic bronze-medalist on his side, he began to vomit.

The 69-year-old mentioned that Khloé Kardashian's estranged husband had been taking "eight to ten" herbal Viagra supplements, but the authorities didn't say whether or not they found any other drugs in the reality star's possessions.

However, insiders revealed that Lamar allegedly had crack cocaine in his system, and is being treated as a drug overdose patient.

At 7 p.m. EST/ 4 p.m. PST, the local sheriff will be holding a press conference to provide an update on his condition, and release a statement about the ongoing investigation.

Check back with PerezHilton.com for the latest on this developing story.

Our thoughts are with everyone affected by this terrible tragedy, and we're hoping Lamar is able to recover.

Nick Cannon Reveals Kidney Problems Were Part Of Autoimmune Disease

Nick Cannon autoimmune disease

Oh no! We're so sorry to hear about Nick Cannon's recent health problems. Although he's got them under control now, it sounds like he'll be dealing with issues for the rest of his life.

While DJing at an event in NYC on Wednesday, the television personality revealed that his kidney condition was the result of an "autoimmune disease that [doctors] found" in his system and it won't be going away, continuing:

"They kind of say [my] autoimmune [disease] is – like a lupus type of thing, but no one else in my family has it."

The autoimmune disease caused the kidney failure, which then produced ANOTHER health scare when he was rushed to the hospital a few weeks ago because of a blood clot in his lungs. Nick described the experience as one of "the scariest" things that has ever happened to him, saying:

"The blood clot thing was probably the scariest because … I've known people who have passed away from that. I thought I was getting better and then that happened, so that kind of came out of nowhere."

Since being diagnosed with his health problems, Nick has had to stop hosting his radio show and is actively trying to get more sleep every night. No matter what inconveniences arise from his condition, however, Nick just feels "blessed to be alive."
