Moms around the country have been sending their kids off to school over the past couple weeks, many for the first time!

Earlier today, we told you about a 6-year-old in Milledgeville, Georgia who was HANDCUFFED by police after she threw a temper tantrum in class at her school, Creekside Elementary.

Yeah, we were just as shocked as you!

Thankfully, someone came to their senses, because the police have dropped all charges against her and she is now allowed to return to school on Monday.

Seems like there was enough outrage to change their minds!

Like we said, the young girl definitely needs to be taught a lesson and should be disciplined properly, but arresting her and taking her into a police station just isn't the answer.

This is taking things way too far!

A six-year-old kindergarten student in Milledgeville, Georgia was PLACED IN HANDCUFFS after she threw a tantrum in her classroom at Creekside Elementary School.

In a police report, it was written that Salecia Johnson was charged with simple assault and damage to property as she was seen tearing items off the walls and throwing furniture.

The Chief of Police explained why he put the young girl in cuffs:

"Our policy states that any detainee transported to our station in a patrol vehicle is to be handcuffed in the back. There is no age discrimination on that rule."

She has since suspended and cannot return to school until August.

Her mother Constance Ruff explained why she threw the tantrum:

"She has mood swings some days - all of us have mood swings some days. I guess that was just one of her bad days."

LOL, oh boy…

We're not sure if ARRESTING her really teaches her anything, except for scarring her for life.

The girl needs discipline, but not to that extreme!!

Is there anything our silver fox can't do??

On is new segment “Try This" Anderson Cooper agrees to sub for a kinder class!

This week the fox took over for a very deserving kindergarten teacher, while she went to a spa day. He is so thoughtful and handsome. Sigh.

Anyway! After teaching their class for a day, Anderson invited a group of kindergarten scholars to the show. It turns out the scholars taught Anderson a few things of their own and give him a report card.

Shakira, an advocate of investing in Latino education, got her chance to to speak with government officials on the issue during a meeting of the White House Initiative on Educational Excellence for Hispanics Commission.

That platform also gave her the opportunity to plead her case to millions of Americans on behalf of the fastest-growing group of Americans who have more children living in poverty than ANY OTHER ethnic group.

In an editorial authored by the Colombian pop star on the White House blog, Shakira argues "the only road out of poverty is education."
