Kirk Douglas and his wife Anne originally planned on donating $5,000,000 for continued support of the Anne Douglas Center for Women at the Los Angeles Mission.

The center opened up about 20 years ago and helps homeless women in the Los Angeles area.

The couple has now decided to pledge $10 MILLION to the center!

The legal troubles of Michael Douglas' son Cameron Douglas are just never-ending.

It's more bad news for Cameron as the troubled 33-year-old was sentenced to 4 1/2 more years in prison for drug possession WHILE he was in prison, serving his original sentencing of five years.

The actor's son has had a very public addiction to meth, cocaine and heroin, which have landed him in jail in 1999 and in 2007.

Even though his father, as well as his stepmom Catherine Zeta-Jones and grandfather Kirk Douglas have sent letters asking for leniency, Cameron was still given a pretty long sentence.

While in court, Cameron read a letter to the New York federal Judge Richard Berman, saying this:

Accompanied by his lovely wife, Catherine Zeta-Jones, and legendary father Kirk Douglas, Michael Douglas attended the Children At Heart Gala Dinner in New York Monday night.

Hosted by the Children of Chernobyl Charity, Catherine and Michael came out to support his father Kirk, who was being present with an award in recognition of his support for the charity.

Sisters Dakota and Elle Fanning were also honored at the event.

The CCOC has rescued 2,783 children on 95 different rescue missions.

Good work and kudos to everyone honored.

Tony Curtis' wife, Jill, is planning to eulogize her husband of 16-years, the legendary Tony Curtis, on Monday in Las Vegas.

An public funeral will be followed by a burial and a private reception at the Luxor Hotel.

Billionaire investor Kirk Kerkorian, Kirk Douglas and singer Phyllis McGuire are among seven honorary pallbearers. Curtis’ daughter, Jamie Lee Curtis, is expected to attend.

We're not sure how much good this is going to do.

Actor Michael Douglas also submitted a hand-written letter to Judge Richard Berman, which his father Kirk Douglas and wife Catherine Zeta-Jones have already done, in hopes that the judge will be lenient on his son Cameron Douglas.

Cameron is due to be sentenced today after pleading guilty to drug charges. Michael writes:

"I love my son, but I'm not blind to his actions. I don't want to see him break. He is an adult and responsible for his own actions. We do know, however, that genes, family and peer pressure are a strong influence on a substance abuser.

"I have some idea of the pressure of finding your own identity with a famous father. I'm not sure I can comprehend it with two generations to deal with. Cameron grew up a single child in a bad marriage. Cameron found his family in the gang mentality.

"He's sober. I get to witness the wonderful young man he can be. He maintains his spirit, blames no one but himself and recognizes his criminal activity began with his heroin use."

We'll have to see what fate awaits Cameron today, but we don't think his family's excuses are going to gain him any sympathy from the judge when he has pleaded guilty to the crime.

Both Catherine Zeta-Jones and actor Kirk Douglas are asking Manhattan's Federal Court for leniency when it comes to Cameron Douglas' sentencing.

They each wrote letters with 93-year-old Kirk vouching for his grandson:

"He [Cameron] didn't express any self-pity, nor did he ask for any. The only sorrow he expressed was for the trouble he had caused others. I'm convinced Cameron could be a fine actor… I hope I can see that happen before I die. I love Cameron."

Catherine added in her letter that Cameron is "a considerate, worthy human being."

Cameron, Michael Douglas' son, is facing more than 10 years in prison for dealing methamphetamine. His sentencing is next week.

We wonder if Kirk and Catherine's letters will have any effect on the judge's decision!
