While boxing is a competition of strength and stamina, the game of chess is more of a battle of wits!
But have you ever wondered what would happen if you combined the two for one hybrid sport??
Yeah, us neither. But apparently a few people in the UK did as they came up with the idea of chess boxing!
Matt "Crazy Arms" Reid explains the sport that combines brain and brawn, and it's basically exactly what it sounds like!
Two fighters step into the ring for boxing rounds that are three minutes long. Between each round, the two opponents play four minute rounds of "blitz" chess, which means they have to move their pieces as quickly as possible!
So how do you end a match of chess boxing? Well, it's pretty simple actually. To come out victorious, you either have to win at chess or knock out your opponent!!
Honestly, we're not sure which aspect of this game sounds more grueling: The fighting, or the chess!
But we're pretty sure either one would make our heads hurt!
