That's A Wrap! La Cage Aux Folles Closing In A Month!

Well, that's that!

The Broadway revival of La Cage aux Folles, which originally starred Kelsey Grammer and Douglas Hodge, will be shutting down once its current run with Harvey Fierstein and Christopher Sieber wraps on Sunday, May 1st.

Ticket sales have reportedly been less-than-stellar since the original cast left, so it's no surprise that they're cutting their losses while they can.

Too bad! But hey - it had a good run!

Hopefully the rest of the show's this April will do well! Hang in there, guys!

Christopher Sieber Replaces Jeffrey Tambor In La Cage Aux Folles!

A pretty worthy replacement, we'd say!

There's been quite a few casting switch-ups in the Broadway production of La Cage aux Folles recently, now that Kelsey Grammer has left the production and gotten married to his future ex-wife, Kayte Walsh.

When he and co-star Douglas Hodge left the show February 13th, they were replaced by Harvey Fierstein and Jeffrey Tambor, but unforuntately, the latter had to give up performing on February 24th due to complications from a recent hip surgery!

However, two-time Tony nominee Christopher Sieber has been announced as his successor, and will take over the role at an unspecified date for a 'brief engagement!'

Phew! Here's hoping he sticks around long enough for people to be able to keep track of who's playing who! LOLz!

Break a leg, guys!

Jeffrey Tambor Pulls Out Of La Cage Aux Folles After Struggling With Role

Kelsey Grammer's replacement in the Broadway show La Cage aux Folles, Jeffrey Tambor, has pulled out of the show due to complications from a recent hip surgery.

However, there's more to it as reports have come out that Tambor struggled to keep up with the high musical notes that is required of his character. Sources say that he lacked the sophistication and confidence that Kelsey brought to the role and even lashed out at producers, saying, "You don't have faith in me!"

The source also added that he was "freaking out."

Even after hiring a high-priced vocal coach and flying in director Terry Johnson to work with him, backstage insiders say that Tambor still lacked the confidence to continue playing the role of Georges on stage.

On Friday, Tambor pulled out of the show, which had producers giving a statement that said, "the pain and challenge of performing in a musical eight times a week proved to be too physically demanding" for Tambor.

Chris Hoch will fill in for the mean time.

Sad. But, La Cage aux Folles is a demanding show so we can see why he felt the need to pull out.

Who do U think will be a good replacement??

Could You Not, Your Majesty???

Countess LuAnn de Lesseps eyeing roles on broadway at chicago and La Cage Aux Folles real housewives of new york

With all due respect, your voice is the kind best enjoyed when heavily doused in autotune. Thespians don't use autotune!

There have been rumors cirulating the off streets of the Great White Way that a Real Housewife was looking to enter the world of theater. Our worst dreams were realized when we heard this morning that it was none other than Countess LuAnn de Lesseps from the Real Housewives of New York and that it might actually come to pass.

Her rep confirmed that she's had a few meetings with casting directors for Chicago and La Cage Aux Folles and that she is "seriously" considering some work off Broadway. However, her debut will have to wait until the fourth season of Housewives finishes filming. Her rep explains:

“They’re filming now so she can’t consider anything until after filming ends, which will mostly likely be towards the end of the year or January. She loves Broadway shows and has always had an affinity for the theatre and Broadway and an affinity for singing. But it’s all dependent on availability. So this is something she wants to consider and pursue and hopefully with the right show, at the right time and the right availability dates it will happen.”

Money can buy you class, but it can't buy you talent. We think it is better for you to stick to what you know, BB! We're sure Andy Cohen would be tickled pink to let you record another song! Do that!

Why Camille Divorced Frasier Crane!

If he pulled this shiz, we'd divorce his ass, too!

We reported yesterday that Camille Grammer filed for divorce from Kelsey Grammer, and cited "irreconcilable differences," and now we know why!

Apparently he just decided he was over the marriage and did everything he could to eff it up!

According to sources, Grammer moved to New York this year to star in La Cage Aux Folles, and realized he appreciated the single life more than he'd realized!

A source says:

"Kelsey loved New York, his friends and his freedom more than his marriage. She doesn't know what Kelsey is doing in New York, but he's made it pretty clear he wants nothing to do with marriage anymore. She didn't see it coming."

We hear that he didn't even contact his family on Father's Day!

That really sucks! Especially after 13 years of marriage!

You just give up and stop trying to because you're over it? So unfortunate.
