Mariah Carey Is Close To Taking Randy Jackson On As Her Manager!

mariah-carey-is-close-to-taking-randy-jackson-on-as-her-manager

Mariah Carey is NOT messing around with the next phase of her career, we guess!

The diva is reportedly deep in negotiations with Randy Jackson, whom she's known since was signed to A&R from 1988-2001, to manage her career!

The two have worked together on many recordings in the past, and although the deal isn't completely in place yet, according to a source, the American Idol judge is "very much in the mix," and was present at the nine-hour music video shoot for the diva's new collaboration with Justin Bieber on a remix of her track, All I Want For Christmas is you!

And only days later, he was spotted at Mariah's label office, taking meetings!

NICE!

These two obviously have a very healthy working relationship, and the man is obviously more than capable of working with talent, so we think that this will be a very beneficial arrangement for both parties!

We're excited to hear what kind of tunage you make together!

Fish Labeling Is Often Inaccurate

Consumer Reports had several secret shoppers go out and buy different types of fish.

Then the bits of fish were sent out to a lab to be DNA tested to see if the fish actually was what its label said it was.

The results were pretty surprising.

Check out the above video to get some more details on this "fishy" (LOLz) mislabeling problem.

Queen B To Get Another Week On The Charts' Throne

Beyonce Number One On Charts

Beyonce to be on top again!

Her latest album, 4, sits on the throne of #1 this week and likely will get a second week at #1 too.

This week, 4 sold $313,000 topping Adele.

Labels held back their releases this week with the holiday in mind. The only album drop of significance came from Interscope with Lloyd's King of Hearts.

Nonetheless, it is an accomplishment and Queen B should be proud!

There May Be Hope For Ciara's Music Career!

ciara-in-talks-with-src-records-for-comeback

Hey! It happened for Jennifer Lopez and Kelly Rowland!

Why not Ciara, too?!

As we've reported, the pop star has been having lots of trouble with her label Jive Records, but sources are now reporting that she very well have found a new home at SRC Records, a subsidiary of Universal Motown, which is also working to revive the careers of the aforementioned former Destiny's Child singer and Aubrey O'Day!

CEO Steve Rifkind recently wrote on Twitter:

“Just had a great meeting with Ciara and her manager. She is poised for greatness, really impressed.”

Inneresting! Sounds like they want to give her a shot to bounce back!

Here's hoping it works out! She deserves a fresh start after the hell she went through with Jive!

Fingers are crossed for you, gurl!

Study Reveals Consumer Bias In Favor Of Organic Labels

Organic labels mislead consumer taste

A study by Cornell University graduate student Jenny Wan-chen has revealed that people have a bias in favor of foods with the organic label, which she calls the "healthy halo".

She offered 144 mall shoppers 2 samples of yogurt, chips and chocolate sandwich cookies — one organic and one "regular" — then asked them to rate the samples for qualities including taste and fat content.

The results?

Shoppers consistently found "organic" to be not only better tasting, but estimated that the organic foods had more fiber, less fat and fewer calories.

Heck, they even admitted to be willing to pay more for them!

What the shoppers weren't aware of is that both samples were organic, so their judgement was simply swayed by the "organic" label.

While this does make customers sound a little stupid, at least it shows a growing interest in purchasing the "healthier" option over any other option.

Of course, cookies aren't healthy no matter how organic they are if you eat too many of them. In the case of obesity, quantity is often more dangerous than quality.

Mariah Back To Sony In 2012!

Mariah Returns To Sony In 2012

Fab!!

Mariah Carey is set to return to Sony Music in 2012!

While there is some speculation as to whether or not this is a good move, we think it is. She made some of her best music while at Sony before she split in 2000.

The question is, which label in Sony Music will she be placed?

That's still up in the air, as most of the obvious choices are already being piloted by super successful lady R&B artists!

Under UMG, her current label, Mariah only has one album left to release contractually and that one is probably due out at the end of this year!

Which would be so rad because we'd love some new Mimi in our headphones!!

Are U excited for new Mariah, regardless??
