There May Be Hope For Ciara's Music Career!

ciara-in-talks-with-src-records-for-comeback

Hey! It happened for Jennifer Lopez and Kelly Rowland!

Why not Ciara, too?!

As we've reported, the pop star has been having lots of trouble with her label Jive Records, but sources are now reporting that she very well have found a new home at SRC Records, a subsidiary of Universal Motown, which is also working to revive the careers of the aforementioned former Destiny's Child singer and Aubrey O'Day!

CEO Steve Rifkind recently wrote on Twitter:

“Just had a great meeting with Ciara and her manager. She is poised for greatness, really impressed.”

Inneresting! Sounds like they want to give her a shot to bounce back!

Here's hoping it works out! She deserves a fresh start after the hell she went through with Jive!

Fingers are crossed for you, gurl!

Study Reveals Consumer Bias In Favor Of Organic Labels

Organic labels mislead consumer taste

A study by Cornell University graduate student Jenny Wan-chen has revealed that people have a bias in favor of foods with the organic label, which she calls the "healthy halo".

She offered 144 mall shoppers 2 samples of yogurt, chips and chocolate sandwich cookies — one organic and one "regular" — then asked them to rate the samples for qualities including taste and fat content.

The results?

Shoppers consistently found "organic" to be not only better tasting, but estimated that the organic foods had more fiber, less fat and fewer calories.

Heck, they even admitted to be willing to pay more for them!

What the shoppers weren't aware of is that both samples were organic, so their judgement was simply swayed by the "organic" label.

While this does make customers sound a little stupid, at least it shows a growing interest in purchasing the "healthier" option over any other option.

Of course, cookies aren't healthy no matter how organic they are if you eat too many of them. In the case of obesity, quantity is often more dangerous than quality.

Mariah Back To Sony In 2012!

Mariah Returns To Sony In 2012

Fab!!

Mariah Carey is set to return to Sony Music in 2012!

While there is some speculation as to whether or not this is a good move, we think it is. She made some of her best music while at Sony before she split in 2000.

The question is, which label in Sony Music will she be placed?

That's still up in the air, as most of the obvious choices are already being piloted by super successful lady R&B artists!

Under UMG, her current label, Mariah only has one album left to release contractually and that one is probably due out at the end of this year!

Which would be so rad because we'd love some new Mimi in our headphones!!

Are U excited for new Mariah, regardless??

Oh, Lil' Kim! For Real??

Oh, here we go…

Lil' Kim's war against Nicki Minaj and members of Young Money is still raging, as once again seen in the rapper's latest track off of her Black Friday mixtape, On The Block (above), in which she disses the male members of the record label by calling them a particularly not-nice homophobic slur!

Give the track a listen (above)!

Not very considerate, gurl!

Especially given the support of your gay fanbase!

You know, the ones that have contributed to some of the 100,000 copies of Black Friday being sold, DESPITE no one receiving it…even though the release date was supposed to be February 14th!

Thoughts??

Lupe Fiasco Talks New Album, B.O.B. And Suicidal Thoughts

lupe fiasco talks bob new album and suicidal thoughts

Looks like Lupe Fiasco's got A LOT on his mind that he wants to share with the world before his new album Lasers is released.

Here's Lupe on his extreme reaction to B.o.B. getting all the recognition for Nothing On You, a song he originally recorded:

"That was the tipping point. It was less about the bruised ego but more the audacity of it. It was mentally destructive. I say it with a certain laissez-faire now because I’m past it, but back then, hearin’ that s**t, it f**ked me up. I was super-depressed, lightly suicidal, at moments medium suicidal – and if not suicidal, willing to just walk away from it all completely.”

And here's Lupe's less-than-positive thoughts on his new album:

“I hate this album. I don’t hate the music, but I hate the process. When I look at it, I don’t see song titles and artwork, I see the fight – I see the emotions, the blood, sweat and tears. There are a couple of songs on there that I love; but Lasers is a little bit of what you love, a little bit of what you like, and a lot of what you had to do."

We appreciate you opening up to us about all of this, but you realize this isn't going to help your label try and make your new single and album a hit, right?

It's a little bit distressing that you don't seem to care about this. Thanks for the honesty, but if you're so down about this album that you're willing to speak out against it, maybe there are bigger issues still at play.

MIGHT want to seek professional help, Lupe. The drama with B.o.B. is very unfortunate, but it's not worth contemplating suicide over.

Thoughts???

Clay Aiken Has No Desire To Record

After news came out that he is being dropped from his record label, Clay Aiken cleared the air by stating that he has no desire to record anytime soon and will focus on his upcoming live show.

Said Aiken:

"There is no upcoming album planned at this time. I am focusing on my live show and heading out on tour this week for the next few months. The truth is, I have no desire to get back into the studio any time soon."

Clay did say that despite his poor record sales with this label, there’s a chance that he will approach them in the future when he is ready to record his next album.

"There has never been a long-term label deal in place, but when there is new album to discuss, I will discuss it with the label."

We’re glad to hear he’s got a positive outlook on all of this!!

Joel Madden Is NOT Happy About The Cover Art For His Band's Greatest Hits Album!

joel-madden-tweets-about-good-charlottes-greatest-hits-album-cover

We know that you guys had no involvement with the compilation, but you're just noticing this now? It's been out since November!

Joel Madden must have just finally caught the album cover for his band, Good Charlotte's Greatest Hits album - which was released through their former label Sony Music without their input - because he just took to Twitter to share his distaste for it with the world!

He wrote:

Our "greatest hits record" has the worst artwork ever. What a shame. Sony could have a least told us! We would have helped. I think?

Wow! That does really suck.

But we can't imagine that there's too much that can be done - it's pretty out of your control at this point!

For the record, we think that although it's definitely not GREAT, it's not the worst either!

Sorry, bb!
